One of my earphones was taken out and my eyes jerked open.
“Do you know the definition of inside?” Ausmane was standing next me. How long had he been there for? Even more surprising was how I hadn’t felt his presence.
His mouth was the first thing my eyes went to, and before a blush reached my cheeks, I took my other earphone out. “Sorry. I shouldn’t have turned on my phone. They might track me.”
“Nothing can be tracked here." Suddenly, his thumb swiped over my glistening lash. I turned my face, wiping them myself. “They set up investigative teams in the forest. Stay away from there.”
“Sorry,” I mumbled again. “I took your privacy away from the forest. The cabin, too.”
