Chapter 11 DarknessThe floor gave way and Lacey was launched into darkness. When her head cleared from the fall, she was lying on a bed of sand. Pink iridescent crystal covered all the walls around her.
“A crystal cave.” Lacey heard the sounds of battle, but could see she was alone in the cavity. Perhaps it was the sound of a distant fight echoing off the cave walls. Lacey thought maybe it was a dream. She could have been knocked out in the fall. Blood on her hand and the throbbing pain of a cut during the fall told the mage she was still awake.
“Where is that noise?”
Lacey saw faint images in the pink crystal. Just a reflection of herself? No, these images were outdoors under a bright sunny sky. Lacey squinted at the weak images, her eyesight almost gone.
