Matthew POV
I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, when I felt Bethany's emotions start going haywire. She went from being happy and excited to wary and confused, then she flipped on the drop of a dime to anger and betrayal. The anger continued to build for a few minutes, then it turned to rage.
I don't know how long I felt the rage, but out of nowhere my face started aching at the same time I felt hurt, pain, and betrayal come through our bond. I rubbed my cheek, as I thought to myself, what in the f**k just happened to my mate.
After just a second, I felt her exhaustion nearly double. I had no clue why, but I could also still fill her rage, betrayal, and hurt. I wanted more than ever to go out and search for her, but I had no clue where to start.
