Ivy's POV
I sat in the fetal position in the small office Emerson's mother had dragged me into to hide from the battle raging outside. I couldn't believe how much my world had changed. A week ago, I was a normal girl, making the most of my summer before I went to college, and now I had been thrown into a world where werewolves, witches and vampires existed. A world where I was hiding while my best friend was out fighting a bunch of bloodthirsty vampires to keep us safe. I knew she had been hiding things from me, but I had no idea that this was what she was hiding. But at the end of the day, Emerson was still the person I had grown up with. She was still my best friend.
