James PoV
I wake up to a loud bang, the slamming of a door.
Harper is startled and tries to sit up in bed.
She pulls her right hand to rub her eyes and I let my hand follow her gesture since we are still handcuffed together.
“Did I wake you up?” Jonathan mocks, standing next to the bathroom door.
“You think?” I huff.
“Well, it is about time you wake up. The sooner we finish this… errand, the faster we go back to the safety of your home.”
Always the annoying voice of reason, Jonathan!
“What time is it?” I ask him.
“Six in the morning.”
“Do you want to take a quick shower?” I ask Harper, who is yawning and stretching her hands, and mine in the process.
“Yes, please. Can you free my hand?” she replies, raising her handcuffed hand to my eyes.
