Even from a distance, I saw her grow emotional as she watched me on the stage. She said nothing, though. She didn’t even look away from us. I forced a smile and looked away from the older alpha couple, despite the numerous thoughts running through my mind.
Why was she looking at me like that? Did she know something I didn’t?
“Ignore the distractions. If anyone tries to interfere, the guards are on standby.” Theo’s mind link gave me the support I needed. He must have heard her gasp or felt my discomfort.
After giving my hand a brief squeeze, he carried on with the ceremony. It appeared that no one else observed the elder Luna's response. I also made a conscious effort to ignore all outside distractions and concentrate on Theo's speech.
