I watched as my mate came down the steps towards me and my truck. Dion was going crazy, and it took a lot of energy to keep him calm and at bay. Just before Cooper reached me, I opened the passenger side door for him.
“Thanks,” he said with a smile as he climbed in. I quickly closed the door and hurried over to the driver's side. Once I was in the truck, I could feel the start of those nervous feelings bouncing around and I quickly turned on the engine. “Nice truck,” Cooper complimented, and I threw him a smile before pulling away from the curb and concentrating on the road. “Where are we going?” he asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence.
