Chapter 14Galen heard the light grunting sound coming from Dion, who was currently lying on the bed in the apartment upstairs, before his boyfriend slowly opened both eyes and stared up at him. Dion seemed weirdly frightened. Galen tentatively smiled at Dion.
“Welcome back to the land of the living.”
Dion gasped. “You’re dead.”
Galen frowned. “I’m pretty sure I’m not.”
“But I saw you—”
Galen grabbed Dion’s hand, cutting his boyfriend off midsentence. Dion looked so taken aback, he shrieked and tried to get away. However, Galen tightened his grip on Dion’s hand.
“Baby, calm down. I’m really here, alive and well.”
Dion’s eyes widened as his eyes darted back and forth between Galen’s face and hand. “Your hand is very warm.”
Galen nodded. “Because I’m not dead.”
