“It’s been unusually quiet the past few days.”
Ashton lowered the newspaper in his hand as he peered over it to look at Ashley. They were having Sunday brunch on the balcony of their apartment.
“What do you mean, love?” he asked.
Ashley sighed and sipped her coffee before explaining, “It just feels weird that we’re not dealing with reporters or malicious photographs on the tabloids. Do you think Henderson has finally given up?”
“I doubt that. He must be maliciously scheming over his own brunch as we speak!” Ashton replied with a teasing grin before he returned to reading the sports section of the paper. He had barely finished reading the first paragraph when he heard his girlfriend sigh. It immediately told him that she was overthinking.
