I stood in the shower, washing my hair when I heard the door to the bedroom open and close. I rinsed the soap out of my face before I opened them, seeing the door open up.
“Adelina?” Ashton’s voice floated over the sound of running water, and I smiled, waving at him through the glass. A large smile stretched across his face, and he closed the door behind him.
“Hey how did it go?” I asked. His smile faltered a little but didn’t disappear.
“I’ll be dealing with him soon. He can’t be exiled as he hasn’t done anything wrong, and I can’t exactly challenge him as alpha. But it will be dealt with.” There was an edge to his voice in the last sentence, so I opened the door to look at him. His eyes met mine and he blinked; the weird look disappearing as soon as out eyes met.
