Jabir and Roam looked up from where they were coloring. Both sensed the authority and alarm in her voice. They scrambled to their feet and hurried into the kitchen.
“What’s wrong?” Jabir asked.
Pearl’s face was tight with worry. She knelt down, and whispered to the symbiot wrapped around her wrists. The thin bands of gold dissolved and divided before wrapping around each boy’s arm.
