I heard him; I wasn’t exaggerating or building words in my head. Did he call me his mate?
I held his gaze and realized he was angry with what he had just said; he didn't mean it, it was a mistake which he regrets.
We both remained silent, and just when he was about to speak, the door opened, revealing lord Maddison.
