Both Martin and Patricia were quite surprised by this news. There was feeling dejection in Martine’s mind. Now there was a rift which cannot resolve between him and Patricia. This child was nothing but the proof of her forlorn past. Even though Richard Ben is not there, now his presence by this child will always be with Patricia. There was a flood of sorrows in Martin's heart. There was some strange movement started in his mind. He understood that he could not control his emotions in front of Patricia. He wanted to be alone for some time. Patricia was lying on the bed and was lost in her thoughts.
