Buckled into two huge bucket seats behind the firetruck’s front cab, August and Tasha headed back to the station after a Memorial Day weekend call. A novice, overzealous griller got scared when flames shooting upwards of eight feet scorched the awning over his back deck. A black stripe across green and white canvas, fortunately, there was no damage beyond that, except maybe to the guy’s marriage and ego when his wife insisted on cooking the burgers and hot dogs inside.
“First feature…” August thought back to the app, to Memo’s body, but then he said, “Eyebrows. In person, it’s definitely eyebrows.”
