I guess perfect would be better if we were polar bears. By the time, we drove the half hour to the top the weather totally changed. Temperatures hovered about forty-six degrees and the wind was blowing at gale forces. We picked up a brochure about climbing in the Presidential Range and vowed to come back and hike up the mountain through Tuckerman’s Ravine later in the summer. As we got closer to the bottom, the warm weather returned. It was hard to believe that there could be so much of a difference in temperatures and wind speed. It was a different world up there. We hit a couple more shops when Annie found a brochure about the famed bicycle race up the mountain. She couldn’t believe that anyone would pedal a bike up that steep mountain road.
