Enzo's POV (Originally Chapter 25- Executed)
I stared at her as her tears crawled down her cheeks while kneeling inside of her cell. Everyone's busy preparing for the execution of her father later this afternoon. King Vurther asked for a favor. He wants Gregor Ovia's daughter to stand next to him. He wanted Merylle to witness her own father's execution.
I gritted my teeth. I personally disagree with this but none in the council, and even my parents, dared to disagree with the former King.
I understand his rage. He is known as a great warrior and a leader. After the news broke out that his wife was killed, he felt helpless.
"I'm b-begging you... m-master... princes... Please let me have a day with my f-father..." Merylle continuously begs even though no one is hearing her plea.
