Only a day had passed after the big incident with Silas, in that short space of time, Lucius had to act on his plan to attack the hunters if he wanted to catch them by surprise. Mike had been sent out in the early morning hours to seek help from some of the neighboring packs in the north; there weren’t many packs that resided there but having more wolves to fight than they did would be a great help.
The pack members were all on board and willing to fight with Lucius. Even Haley, whom he suggested staying back, argued until she was allowed to go; her drive to find Nathan was stronger than her fear. Laila wanted to join the attack, too, but Lucius denied her request as he needed her safe and healthy just in case any of the pack members got badly injured; she had become Blythe’s stand-in.
