Axel Gunner didn't say a word to me before the meeting. I knew he was pissed, even with how good of a poker face he had. The question, though, was he pissed because I was late or because Lizzy hadn't gone home last night? He had said he would stay out of things and let us do our thing. So long as I didn't hurt her. But he was still her father and didn't mean he was happy with things. As we drove out of town, I decided to keep my mouth shut unless he talked to me.
