Colton and I walked hand in hand into the hospital with genuine smiles on our faces. Last night changed my entire mood when I was around with him. I couldn't stop the genuine smile that was creeping at the corners of my mouth.
It is almost as if I couldn't hide my happiness.
We parted when Colton went to the administration department to settle everything with discharge, and I headed towards the wards.
"Hi," I said as I walked into my father's ward room, "Dad, do you feel better?" That was the first thing I asked, "Did the doctor on duty come to see you? What did he say?" I asked, going to stand at his side.
I scanned his face and the state that he was in. Thankfully, there were no tubes attached to him, as I pictured. He looked like he was just resting as he normally would.
