Ella and I stood at the top of the stairs, watching the Alpha as he talked to that mysterious woman in the foyer. She took a deep breath, holding her hands in a fist on her side, eager to start and end this once and for all.
Sensing how anxious she felt, I held her hand in mine, hoping to send some comfort into her heart.
“I have a bad feeling about this, Duncan,” she whispered, taking another deep breath. “Please tell me it’s the right thing to do. Tell me I can defeat that man and we can send his entire pack to hell.”
I raised her hand and kissed the palm, sending a reassuring smile. “You are strong and brave. Of course it’s the right thing to do. You have Alpha blood running through your veins, love. Nothing will stop you.”
