“Would you care for some wine with dinner?” the waiter asked.
I stared at Nick, mouthing the word “nursing.”
Nick shrugged. “One glass?”
“I’ll have a sip,” I compromised, and he ordered two glasses. He looked amazing in his suit. The purple tie was a nice choice, and I wondered if he’d intentionally worn the team color of the Fever or if it was a coincidence.
“I’ll finish what you don’t,” Nick said.
“It would be wrong to check the baby monitor with my phone, wouldn’t it?”
I hated leaving the babies behind. They were such a huge part of my life that it was strange being out without them—like leaving home without your arm.
