Morgan Pov I found myself walking in the garden the next day. Xavier advised me against it since there was already an increase in safety measures, but he followed me to the garden in the end. I no longer cared that Calum wouldn’t like me being outside. He could yell and curse at me, but he wouldn’t intimidate me from doing as I pleased. Despite many of the plants being overgrown, I found peace in how little they were maintained. No one was trying to stop them from growing or control what leaves were kept and which ones were discarded. The overgrowth also kept people away, making the garden much quieter than the pack house. I stopped briefly as we reached the alcove that once held the ladder Lucas used to help get me back in my room after we had snuck out together. Xavier didn’t question
