After a few seconds of licking my neck, Atreyu laid down so I could climb onto the back of his dragon. His scales were surprisingly smooth, making it a little difficult at first, but once I got up the side of him, I had no problem crawling between his wings.
I got myself positioned, so I was sitting with my arms wrapped around his dragon's long neck, then I excitedly stated, "I'm ready, Atreyu. Let's do this!"
Right away, he stood up and started flapping his wings. I could hear the air whoosh beside me, as we lifted up into the sky, and it was so cool. The next thing I knew, we were high above the kingdom, making it look smaller than it actually was.
I had flown through the air many times, but I had always had full control of where I was going, so flying
