"The future is uncertain, and the end is always near."

"What the hell are we going to do now?" Skylar screams from inside the car. I look up at the sky and notice that it's a full moon.

"Call for help." I mutter and pull out my phone. I open my GPS and see we're in an unknown location but there is a shop close by.

"I don't know anybody to call at 1 am in the morning plus it's going to take at least an hour for them to arrive. There is a place like twenty minutes away, do you want to go there?" I yell and hold my phone up in the air to see if I can get any bars.

The night is still and calm and even in the forest, it looks as if we're the only ones there. Skylar slams the car door shut and struts towards me.

"Anything to get out of this place." She says annoyed. I decide to leave my car there and we start walking. Skylar talks about dying in a forest with me while I check to see if we are walking in the right direction.

Ten minutes later, we are still walking but I can hear the faint sounds of cars. Skylar bets it's the clowns and forces me to walk into the forest.

The trees stand at 20 feet tall and the bushes make it difficult to walk which results in me tripping a lot. Suddenly, the trees come into an end and I can see where we are. The sight I see shocks me.

The city is large and cars and trucks are visible going who knows where. Many buildings and houses are built. This seems like an ordinary city but why is it located in the middle of the forest? And why didn't I see it on the map.

"What is this place?" Skylar breaks the silence while staring at it. I shudder and look down at my hands.

"At least we can find a repair shop now." I say sarcastically as we saunter down. Families are roaming the streets and as soon as we approach the sidewalk, many people turn to stare at us.

A look of horror is visible in their eyes. They push and run towards their homes while leaving us an empty path. I look at Skylar and her mouth is hanging open.

"Rude much?" She says obstinately and I toll my eyes. What is wrong with these people? They're acting as if they are surprised to see us. We are humans too.

"I saw a car repair shop across the street." Skylar shrugs and we cross the road. Like before, everyone who sees us runs the other way so within four minutes, the whole block is deserted.

I enter the shop and a man steps out. His smile fades away as he stares at me blankly. Okay.

"My car broke down in the forest a mile away. I was hoping you could help?" I ask and he nods. He looks in his early twenties and if I were to be honest, he is pretty good looking.

"I don't work here." He says and I stare at Skylar embarrassed. A moment later, a man steps out who looks in his fifties. He sends some of his workers to get my car and he takes my number to call when the work is finished.

Skylar and I decide to stroll around in this weird town. We comes across a hotel and decide to spend the night there. In the morning, we go downtown and find a coffee shop for breakfast. 

"Did you notice animal voices at night? It sounded like wolf's howling." Skylar trembles and I shake my head. I just need to pick up my car and go home. It probably will be finished by now. 

The people sitting in the shop keep a safe distance away from us and the waitress almost drops our food on the ground.

My car's tires is fixed so finally we drive out of scary place. The ride back home is silent and calm because Skylar has fallen asleep.

I drop her back to her house and when I reach back home, I notice 5 black cars parked. It's strange as Dad doesn't invite anyone of his business members to his house.

The environment feels strange in the house so I walk towards Dad's study to find him. I hear people talking in hushed tones. I don't open the door because I sense it as an important meeting.

The rest of the day is spent on Netflix. When I return to school on Monday, I notice a slight change. Some people stare at me through the corners of their eyes while some look at me in the eye. 

I dismiss this as things I never noticed but deep inside I know something is wrong. My gut feeling is proved right in lunch. I'm sitting between Skylar and Catherine as usual when Jacob asks me something.

"Hey Olivia! What did you do on Saturday?" He speaks up and Catherine and Colton turn to look at me.

"Got discharged from the hospital. Me and Skylar hung around." I say casually while picking on my salad.

He shrugs it off and I forget the topic after some time. Colton ignores me so I don't stress out much and mind my business.

At night, I shower and tie a towel around myself. I hear someone shuffle in my room which freaks me out. Dad is away on business which makes me the only person in my house.

I slowly walk towards the door and open it slightly. I look through the small space and see a large shadow. I open the door and find Colton looking at me. But I haven't ever seen this version of him.

Bright red eyes and sharp fangs. Monstrous claws and evil aura is enough to frighten me.
