It nearly broke me to say ‘goodbye’ to Xavier. I knew it was going to be hard to leave him behind, but I couldn’t stay and see my mate with my brother’s mate. The situation we found ourselves in was completely f****d, and it was going to tear me apart if I didn’t get away.
After leaving Xavier at the waterfall, I slowly walked back to the castle. As I walked through the forest, I shed many tears of sadness while pondering if I should just accept Xavier’s rejection.
I knew it would be the best course of action to take for myself, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Deep down, I hoped for Xavier to see the error in his decision and run back to me.
It was a flawed hope. One I should’ve let go of, but I held onto it nonetheless.
