"At some time or other— probably during the war," Quayle continued, "Kospovic must have met Nielecki. But Kospovic and Nielecki didn't like each other. That's another thing I've found out in Germany.
"The next move in the game is that Nielecki goes down to South Brent to meet Kospovic. These two, in spite of the fact that they don't like each other, are joining forces in order to secure the one thing they want; or the two things they want— money and security. Kospovic tells Nielecki that he knows who stole those two missing lists. He asks Nielecki what's the best thing to do about it. Nielecki tells him to do nothing; that the thing to do is to wait; that eventually a situation will arise that they can make use of.
