Finn- Double
Of course it was just my luck that Del walked past my room the moment I opened the door to my room and shoved the two club girls out.
I froze as they tumbled giggling into the hallway and Del turned slowly, a frown pinching her eyebrows together.
And god I had never seen her look more beautiful. With her long blonde hair pulled back from her face, making the angles of her cheek bones stand out even more.
She had some sort of shimmery s**t that accentuated every gorgeous plane. Making her glossy lips pouty , her eyes seem huge.
She looked like she was going out and not hanging round in a club house full of hungover fools.
“Going somewhere nice?” I couldn’t help but ask her as she finally moved , heading towards her own closed door without even a smile in my direction.
“Not really.” She didn’t even bother to look back but that was fine , I followed her anyway. My pounding head forgotten.
She was like a god damn drug I was addicted to. I couldn’t get enough and I hadn’t ever had a real taste yet.
“You look like you are?” I caught her by her arm and she stilled instantly, glancing from my face to my hand where it has wrapped around her bicep.
“Is that meant to be a compliment Double?” She finally asked.
“Do you want it to be a compliment Del?” I countered. God I was fed up of fighting with her. We where going to be living under the same roof at least until her brother got back. We couldn’t do that and carry on the way we were. “Look can we just get passed this?” I let her go and she stepped away and into her room. Putting several feet between us before she turned back to face me.
“Past what?”
“This.” I motioned to the space between us. As if that explained everything. “It’s all ancient history Del, we were just kids.”
Her eyes blazed, “you broke my god damn heart Finn… I mean Double.” She corrected herself and when she looked up there were tears glistening in her eyes.
Shit.
I took another step towards her. “I know baby and I’m sorry, if I could change the past I would. You have to know that.” Folding her into my arms I expected her to fight me, not rest her cheek against my bare chest.
“You would?”
“God yes.” I murmured it into her hair. She smelt of strawberries. Clean and summery. Of all things delicious.
“Because you want me now? Because I’m attractive to you now?” Her voice was bitter. And I froze. “That’s not it Del, you have always been gorgeous . I watched you grow up into this woman that everyone wanted and I knew I could never have you for myself.”
“So you ….”
“I did something stupid Del, something I have regretted ever since. You offered me something beautiful and I didn’t know what to do about it.” I let my lips brush against her forehead.
I just needed a tiny taste. A taste Dom would never have to know about.
Tilting her chin up I lowered my lips to hers, slowly so she knew what I was about to do. There was nothing rushed or aggressive about it like there had been last night. I wanted to kiss her how she had deserved to be kissed when she had asked me to take her virginity all those years ago.
“Are you really going to kiss me when you stink of other women’s perfume Double?” She whispered it but it may as well have been a slap, I stumbled back.
“No.”
She smiled her triumphant knowing smile. “Maybe you should shower.”
“Del.” What the hell had I been thinking? She deserved so much more than this. Than me.
“I’m going to head to town in a bit, if anyone is awake and sober enough to take me. I need a few things and I really really need a decent latte.” She moved across the room like nothing had happened. And really nothing had… yet.
“I’ll take you.”
“You ok to drive?” She turned, some kind of make up brush in her hand.
“I’ll be fine, just let me shower, ok.” Truth was I didn’t want anyone else taking her anywhere. “You wanna take the truck?”
“Bike.” She answered almost instantly. “I wanna take the bike. If you’re ok with that?”
I grinned. f**k yes I was ok with that. Having Delilah D pressedup against my back would be the highlight of my day.
