I get home way after midnight, totally exhausted. Jumping and dancing to the music sucked all the energy out of me. I didn’t discuss the research with Collin because it was neither the time nor the place.
Collin was as friendly as ever with me. He seems to like me when I don’t grill him to get answers. I wonder if Austin is back from his meeting yet because it’s pretty late. I’d love to go to bed with him by my side.
Unfortunately, when I open the door of the apartment, there seems to be no one in. All I hear is Buttercup scratching away in his cage as a welcome.
I love this little furball, but it won’t make me forget that I’m going to fall asleep alone. I’m not sure I’ll manage to fall asleep so easily tonight without Austin by my side, even if I am exhausted.
