Annie entered the unlit room on the second floor and jumped as Patrick moved from the shadows.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.” His voice was smooth and seductive in the darkness. “Lock the door.”
Her heart raced but it wasn’t from fear as she closed the door. The click of the lock echoed through the room.
“Come here.”
She moved toward him, her legs heavy with nerves and desire. They were going to do this. They were actually going to do this—planned not by accident.
