Next Monday afternoon when Gail came up to retrieve the lunch tray, Valerie turned to her and said, “Michael had a call from Mr. Berke. He wants to see you again. Lucky you. He wants to take you on a weeklong fishing trip starting Friday. That’s the good news. The bad news is that he likes his women shaved. He wants you to get a Brazilian wax job. I hear that it’s very painful. But that’s right up your alley, isn’t it?”
“I suppose so, Ma’am.”
“He left the number of a place that does this. You are to call for an appointment ASAP. I left the number on the tray. Capiche?”
“Yes, Ma’am.”
Gail was elated. Perhaps Jason would take her away from here. Either way she was now determined to see the last of the Roths.
