RICHARD'S POV:
"I better take the rest of the file with me. There is some pretty good stuff in here."
Slipping the file beneath the back of my pants and shirt, I step back and close the door. With a smile, I turn the lock with the skeleton key. Once I pull out the key, I jiggle the doorknob several times to make sure no one can get in the attic.
"Now that I know Biddleworth is stashing important papers up here, it looks like I need to investigate the attic further. I never did find Malcolm. Maybe he is up here too."
A cool breeze brushes the nape of my neck. The familiarity of each kid's presence is getting better. I turn around and fold my arms. I know she is here. "Hello, Mary Lou. Is there something I can help you with?"
