Finally the drugged sleep let me go again. This time there was no one around to summon someone to push me back under, either. My skin no longer felt like it was screaming obscenities at me. And I thought I might be able to move without passing out. The room around me felt too silent, though, as I brought first one arm to my face slowly and carefully before attempting to move the other.
