She sat on Magenta's side when she reached their classroom. Until now, Raven occupied her mind, thinking about what happened earlier.
Most of her classmates are whispering, some are playing, half of it is throwing a crumbled paper while laughing. Up until now, her classmates still acting like a child. She just shook her head.
She let out a deep breath and turned to Magenta. Her forehead creased when she noticed that Magenta is kept looking on their back. What's on their back that keeping Magenta looking in that way?
She poked her friend.
“I noticed that you are busy looking at our back? Is there something behind?” she asked.
Magenta smiled at her and whispered in her ear. She is sure that something is going on.
“We have a new classmate, Jing. . . Look at him, he is sitting at our back, on the right side! That guy wearing a black hoodie jacket! He is so handsome, right?” she giggled after saying those words.
Jing shook her head when she finally heard what Magenta's business. She looks at their back and searching for that guy mentioned of Magenta a while ago. She got big eyes when she finally saw the guy. It was Raven! The guy who is with her earlier! The black big human raven! Is Raven, Magenta's talking about?
She grabbed the arms of Magenta. “Is he the guy you are talking about?” she asked while pointing her forefinger to Raven.
Magenta nodded and smiled widely like she is in dreamland. She surely sure, Magenta is daydreaming about Raven. She shouldn't surprise why Magenta acting like this, because she knew that Raven is the type of guy, that girls couldn't resist.
What Raven is doing inside of their classroom? What is that big black Raven bird thinking and he is pretending as a human? She needs to confront him later. She wants to ask that guy what is the planning.
“He is so handsome right, girl?” Magenta asked her out of nowhere. Her friend poked her and moving its eyebrows.
She gave a heavy gaze to Magenta. “Shut up, Magenta. He is our classmate, don't fantasize or even attracted to him.”
Magenta giggled and slapped her right shoulder. “Sorry, Jing, I just can't hold it back. He is so attractive and handsome.”
She just ignores Magenta and pays her attention to their newly arrived teacher.
“Good morning, class! Maybe you have heard already about your new classmate for this school year.”
All of them answered, "yes" in unison.
Mrs. Manriquez clapped her hand to make them quiet.
“Mr. Bradbury. Please come forward, and introduce yourself to us.”
Jing looks at Raven. And Raven stood up and walked toward the aisle of their classroom. She just stares at him while walking until Raven reached the front.
She cusses word. She is thinking about what is Raven planning to do in her world. Raven is new in this world, this guy doesn't know how to deal with people or what she should say to the humans. And Raven doesn't have any idea what people might do when the true identity of Raven will be exposed.
She stared again at Raven. And she doesn't know if she is imagining that Raven is staring at her too.
“Good morning, everyone. My name is Raven Bradbury. I hope we can be friends.”
Some of their classmates are whispering and some are showing their happiness to get along with Raven. Jing heard that there's someone who had already a crush on Raven. She just sighed, she couldn't blame the girl.
“You may now go back to your seat, Mr. Bradbury,” Mrs. Manriquez ordered.
She stared at Raven and gave a language look through eyes to eyes. She is trying to tell him that she wants to talk to him after their class. After that, she looks away and gave all of her attention to Mrs. Manriquez who are now started to talk about their new lesson.
"Okay, class! Get your books and open it on page 78."
WHEN the class is dismissed she immediately pulled Raven in arms towards the locker area. She makes sure that no one can see and heard them.
She glared at him. “What are you planning to do? You don't know what may happen if our classmates will found out who you are,” she blurted out.
Jing couldn't explain what she felt right now, she is worried about Raven's safety. Raven might think that she is crazy, but she is also couldn't explain her feelings.
“Don't worry about that, my princess. Nothing is gonna happen to me. One more thing, I need to do this; to make sure your safety here in your world. I just want to make sure that our enemy will never attack you so that I can protect you whenever that happens.”
Jing couldn't utter any words because of what Raven said. Her heart softened. Her mind went blank and cannot function properly.
In her life, she now only felt what she is feeling right now. That there's someone who cared for her, especially a guy. Where she didn't felt from her biological father, even from her guy friends and from her ex-boyfriend.
“Thank you for the concern, Raven. But you must worry about yourself because you are in danger. I can manage myself, I can taking care of myself. You have lots to do than worrying about me.”
Jing's eyes widened when Raven grabbed her arm in an instant.
“I will protect you, my princess. No matter what will happen, I will save you from our enemies. This is my responsibility, and I need to accomplish it," he said with determination and smiled.
Jing couldn't stop herself from smiling too.
After a couple of minutes, she grabbed him toward her back, when somebody unexpectedly appears.
“Jing?! What are you doing here? And who is with you?” Magenta asked her. She is about to answer when her friend saw Raven behind her back. “Oh. . . so you are with our handsome and cute new classmate?”
Magenta grinned. “Hi, Raven!”
Jing grabbed Magenta's right ear and pulled her far from Raven.
“Stop acting like that, Magenta. He is so kind. Don't make play with him, he is not like one of your crushes out there.”
Magenta's eyebrows met. Then, she gave her a questioning look.
“Tell me, Jing. . . do you have an interest with that Raven?”
She gasped. “What are you talking about, Magenta? I am just his friend,” she defended herself on Magenta's statement.
Her friend just laughed while tapping her right shoulder. “Don't worry, Jing. I don't want to snatch your man. It's so rare that seeing that you are possessive when it comes to him, it likes you don't want to share him with me.”
Magenta walks toward Raven. “What are you in the life of my best friend? Are you her friend or more than that?”
She tried to stop Magenta but her friend is so determined.
“Huh?” Raven responded.
“What are you? Are you in a relationship with my best friend?!”
“Magenta! Stop it!” she shouted, but Magenta is still so serious.
Jing is about to smile, but it suddenly faded when she heard Raven replied to Magenta.
“She is my. . . my princess.”
