Alexa's POV
As we explored the campus, Emma pointed out various buildings and landmarks. We walked past the library, the student union, and the athletic fields.
Along the way, Emma mentioned a group of students who seemed to rule the school's social scene.
"You'll probably meet them eventually," Emma said, rolling her eyes.
"They're a bunch of entitled rich kids who think they're above everyone else and the school's elite clique." I raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Uh huh."
"They're the ones who run the school's social scene. They're rich, influential, and they know it. But be careful, they can be ruthless when they want to be." I nodded, taking mental note of Emma's warning.
"Is that them?" Emma followed my gaze and smirked. A group of seven guys standing by the student union. They were all tall, handsome, and impeccably dressed. Emma gestured to each of them.
"Speaking of the devils. Meet the seven handsome jerks. They're a group of guys who are supposedly the most popular and attractive guys in school. But trust me, they're just a bunch of jerks." I laughed.
"Seven handsome jerks? That sounds ridiculous." Are they serious? Emma nodded.
"I know, right? But they're taken very seriously by most people here. Let me introduce you." She suddenly waved her hands at their direction.
"You know them?"
"I mean, yeah. They're my friends by the way." Her smile widens.
"There's Asher Blackthorn, the one with the dark hair and piercing eyes." Emma said, nodding towards a guy who looked like he owned the place.
"Then there's Ethan Slade, the charming one with the smirk. Liam Ryder, the athlete with the broad shoulders. Lucas Styles, the one with the messy blond hair. Caleb Perry, the tech whiz with the glasses. Maverick Jackson, the rebel with the edgy style. And last but not least, there's Gideon Vaughn, the one with the chiseled features and icy stare." Each of the guys gave me a nod or a smirk as Emma introduced them.
I couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by their collective presence.
They seemed to exude confidence and charm, but Emma's warning about them being jerks lingered in my mind.
"Hi there." They greeted me and I return it with a nod.
"Now, I know why a lot of guys cant help but to talk about you. You're a real piece of..." My brows furrowed at Liam.
"Art." He said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you all." I said, trying to sound casual.
"But don't be fooled by their good looks because they're trouble." Emma whispered though they heard it anyways.
"Grabe ka naman Ems! Alam mo naman na naiiba ako sa mga asungot na 'to." Biglang umakbay si Caleb sa balikat ni Emma dahilan para magpalipat lipat ang tingin ko sa kanilang dalawa.
"Hay nako! Tumigil ka nga jan!" Naka simangot na wika ni Emma saka inalis ang pagkaka akbay ni Caleb sa kanya.
"Kinakahiya mo ba talaga ako? Itong mukhang 'to na cute at gwapo?"
As I stood there, surrounded by the seven handsome jerks—, I couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed.
They all seemed so confident and self-assured, like they owned the place. Emma, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease, chatting with them.
"So, Alexa, what do you think of our little group?" Asher Blackthorn asked, his piercing eyes locked onto mine. Napalingon naman ako sa direksyon nya.
"I'm still getting to know you all." I shrugged, trying to play it cool.
"Well, we'll have to make sure you get to know us better, then." Ethan Slade chuckled.
Magsasalita pa sana ako when Emma intervened before I could respond.
"Don't mind them, Alexa." She said, rolling her eyes.
"They're just trying to impress you." The Fab Seven laughed, and the tension was broken.
"You don't pick her dudes! She's off limits, so back off."
We chatted for a bit longer, mas madami 'ata silang nalaman tungkol sakin dahil sa tone-toneladang tanong nina Maverick, Ethan at Caleb sa akim.
I was surprised to find that we had more in common than I thought, despite their initial intimidating presence.
As we talked, I noticed that each of the Fab Seven had their own unique personality. Liam Ryder was the athlete, always talking about sports and fitness. Lucas Styles was the charming one, with a quick wit and a silver tongue. Caleb Perry was the tech whiz, always tinkering with gadgets and coding. Maverick Jackson was the rebel, with a mischievous glint in his eye. And Gideon Vaughn was the brooding one, with a intensity that seemed to draw people in.
Asher Blackthorn, on the other hand, seemed to be the leader of the group. He was confident and charismatic, with a commanding presence that drew attention.
Despite their differences, the Fab Seven seemed to mesh well together, like a well-oiled machine. And Emma fit right in with them, like she was one of the group.
As we finished our conversation, Emma glanced at her watch.
"I should get going." She said.
"I have a study group meeting at four. Babalik pa ako ng dorm." I nodded, feeling a bit relieved.
"I'll walk with you," I said.
The seven boys bid us farewell, and Emma and I headed off towards our dorm.
As we walked, I turned to her and asked, "So, what's the deal with those guys?"
"Let's just say they're not as perfect as they seem."
As we walked towards our dorm, Emma's grin grew wider.
"I'll tell you all about the Fab Seven, but you have to promise not to tell anyone I told you." She said, her voice low and conspiratorial.
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "I promise. What's the scoop?"
Emma leaned in, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Well, let's start with Asher Blackthorn. He's the king of the school, but he's also got a reputation for being ruthless when it comes to getting what he wants." I nodded, taking mental notes.
"That makes sense. He does seem like the leader of the group." Emma nodded.
"Yeah, and Ethan Slade is the charmer. He's got a smile that can talk his way out of anything, but don't trust him too much. He's got a hidden agenda." I chuckled.
"I'll keep that in mind." Emma continued.
"Liam Ryder is all about sports and loves art. Lucas Styles is the smooth talker, but he's actually really insecure deep down." I nodded.
"What about Caleb Perry?" I asked, curious about the tech whiz.
Emma grinned.
"Caleb's a genius, but he's also a bit of a troublemaker. He loves to push boundaries and stir up drama."
I nodded, impressed. "And what about Maverick Jackson and Gideon Vaughn?"
Emma's grin turned wicked. "Maverick's the rebel, always pushing limits and causing trouble and kinda chick hakotera, you know what I mean? And Gideon... well, Gideon's just Gideon. He's intense, brooding, and mysterious. But don't let that intimidate you. He's got a soft spot for those in need." Tumango naman ako.
"So, what's the deal with you and Caleb?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me. Emma rolled her eyes.
"Oh, don't mind him. He's just my annoying cousin. We've known each other since we were kids, and he's always been a bit of a handful. And only few knows we're related so let's please keep it that way." I raised an eyebrow, surprised.
"Cousin?" Emma nodded.
"Yeah, we're related. But don't worry about it. It's not important."
As we reached our dorm, Emma glanced around cautiously.
"Just remember Alexa, those seven handsome jerks might seem perfect, but they're not. They've all got their own demons and secrets. And if you want to survive around here, you need to know how to navigate their world."
I've got a lot on my plate already and I don't want another to add up.
My life is already full of complexities, let's not make it more complicated lalo pa at hindi ko alam kung sino dito ang nagta-trabaho under Evelyn's order.
