Her husband looked incredibly handsome in his red polo. The stud earring in his left ear—a white crystal—caught the light, sparkling elegantly. It was clearly high-karat, adding a subtle touch of sophistication to his already striking appearance.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Babe,” DJ said as he stepped closer, pressing a firm, passionate kiss to her lips before teasingly pinching her nose. The gesture was both playful and tender, making Dianne’s heart skip a beat.
“Happy Valentine’s Day too, Babe,” she replied softly, her eyes lighting up as she looked at him.
“I love you so much,” he whispered, wrapping her in a warm, protective embrace. The moment felt intimate, as if the world had disappeared around them.
“Wow, I wish…” a female staff member whispered nearby.
“I hope I find a forever like Sir DJ too. Handsome, sweet, and romantic!” she added, letting out a dreamy sigh.
DJ, still holding Dianne close, winked at the staff member. She couldn’t help but giggle, feeling slightly flustered at his charm. Dianne, noticing his playful wink, nudged him gently in the ribs.
“Ouch!” he exclaimed, feigning hurt.
“You’re still acting cute!” Dianne teased, rolling her eyes in mock annoyance.
“No, really! I only act cute for you. I just winked at Miss Beautiful because I heard what she said,” DJ explained with a sly smile, pointing to the staff member. Dianne couldn’t help but blush at the thought that even small gestures from him felt so special.
Just then, they heard footsteps ahead and realized that her siblings and parents had secretly followed them.
“Ate, how did you meet Kuya DJ? You’re so lucky! Handsome, rich, kind, and romantic… I hope I find my forever like him too,” said Adriana, their youngest sister, her eyes sparkling with admiration.
They were in the master bedroom—the same room they had shared as children. Now, it belonged to Dianne and DJ. The rest of their siblings and parents had their own rooms. DJ wasn’t there at that moment; he had gone to the kitchen with Thirdy to prepare lunch, while Adriana helped him fold clothes.
Their conversation paused when there was a knock at the door. Dianne went to open it and saw Arriane standing there.
“Ate, someone’s looking for you,” Arriane said.
Dianne furrowed her brow. “Who are they, and what do they want?” she asked, curious.
“They’re teachers from Marikit Elementary School. They want to invite you to be a guest speaker at the upcoming graduation,” Arriane replied.
A thrill of excitement and anticipation surged through Dianne. She had long dreamed of being a guest speaker at that school—it was their alma mater, where all the siblings had graduated.
“Okay, entertain them first and give them some snacks. I’ll come shortly to talk to them,” she instructed her sister. Arriane nodded and went to the living room to meet the visitors, following Dianne’s directions.
“You stay here for now, okay? I’ll join you in a moment,” Dianne told Adriana as she closed the door.
“Who are the visitors, Ate?” Adriana asked, curious.
“Teachers from Marikit Elementary. They want me to be the guest speaker at the graduation,” Dianne explained, feeling a secret thrill of anticipation.
“Wow! Congrats, Ate! You’ve wanted this for so long, right?” Adriana said, her voice full of admiration.
“Yes,” Dianne replied, brushing her hair and adjusting her outfit. She excused herself to meet the teachers and happily accepted their invitation without hesitation.
Later, after lunch, DJ asked her quietly in the bedroom, “I saw visitors earlier—who were they?”
“Teachers from my old school, Marikit Elementary. They invited me to be a guest speaker at the graduation,” she explained.
DJ smiled proudly at her. The pride in his eyes made her heart flutter.
On the day of graduation, Dianne dressed simply but elegantly. She chose a light blue bodycon dress that wasn’t too tight, subtly revealing the gentle curve of her baby bump—the child she and DJ were expecting. Even in its simplicity, the outfit made her look graceful and confident—a far cry from her old floral-heavy wardrobe. She wore contact lenses instead of thick glasses, giving her a polished and refreshed look.
When she stepped out of the bedroom, DJ was already waiting for her in the living room. He stood as she approached, looking every bit as handsome as she remembered. His powder blue shirt and black pants complemented her dress perfectly, while his polished shoes gleamed under the light.
“Are you ready?” he asked gently, his eyes full of warmth.
She only nodded, nerves fluttering in her stomach.
“If you feel nervous on stage, just look at me. One wink from me, and your worries will vanish,” DJ whispered.
“Hmmm, my husband is so full of himself,” she teased, though she couldn’t hide her smile.
“I’m serious. I have magic, remember? I’ll take care of you,” he added, grinning broadly.
Dianne couldn’t help but laugh softly, feeling a calm reassurance wash over her.
At Marikit Elementary, the ushers guided them to their seats. They sat side by side in the first row, close to the stage.
As Dianne’s name was announced, butterflies filled her stomach. She felt DJ squeeze her hand gently.
“You’ve got this, Babe,” he murmured, his voice a comforting anchor amidst her nerves.
“Remember, when you’re on stage, just look at me. Don’t worry, I’ve got your back. I’ll support you fully. Be brave—you can do this!” DJ added.
Dianne took a deep breath, straightened her posture, and walked toward the stage. The nervousness melted away as she met his encouraging gaze. Every step felt lighter knowing DJ’s unwavering support was right there, grounding her.
The audience’s applause filled the room as she began speaking. Each word she spoke carried confidence, charm, and the warmth of someone genuinely passionate about guiding young minds. DJ’s eyes never left her, his smile radiating pride and love. She couldn’t help but feel a rush of joy, knowing that this moment—this stage, this audience, this support—was perfect because of him.
