The tropical sun bore down on us as Riley and I returned to his luxurious penthouse from our secluded hideaway. Despite the sweltering heat, there was an uneasiness lingering in Riley's eyes, a depth to his thoughts that hadn't been there earlier in the day.
"Are you okay, Riley?" I inquired, genuine concern etched on my face. His response came with a subtle nod and a half-hearted smile.
