Tumunog ang cellphone ko at nakita kong si Riley ang tumatawag. Faking composure, I excused myself to answer.
Pumasok ako ng aking kwarto at tumungo sa balcony.
"He...Hello..." Pilit kong inaayos ang boses ko dahil ayokong mahalata ni Riley na umiiyak ako.
"Hi, baby," his voice, worn from our journey, reached me. Riley must've been exhausted after our long trip to Manila from the island. Mahaba rin kasi ang byinahe namin mula Isla hanggang dito sa Manila kaya hindi nakakapagtaka na napagod talaga si Riley.
"Hey. Bakit hindi ka pa natutulog?" I glanced at the bustling city lights.
