Chapter 15

835 Words
An hour after I roamed around in the island, I decided to go back to the shore again to find the fisherman and the kid, I was pre-occupied the whole hour and didn't enjoy the scenery.  My brows furrowed when I saw him, sitting on a long wooden chair, his kid is on his lap, busy eating something, while they're surrounded by four girls. They don't look foreign in my eyes, so I assume they're all islander, since all of them has an average height, tanned skin and their features are so common in this place. I waked towards their direction. "Having fun?" I asked. I caught the attention of his girls, they all looked at me, I even saw how the one girl gasped after looking at my face. Right, I'm one handsome man after all. Guess, I still got that affect when it comes to ladies huh? The man just sighed before talking, "Tapos ka na ba?" he asked, ignoring my question. I didn't bother to answer, and I just stared at him, bet he got that already causing him to stand from his seat then carried River. "We'll go now." he said to the girls, bidding his goodbye. I walked heavily towards his boat. "And now you're deaf huh? Why didn't you answer me earlier? You're so moody, Are you bipolar?" I asked rudely without glancing at his direction. He shook his head then placed his son inside the boat. And his next move really caught me off guard. He suddenly held my waist tightly before lifting me up, my eyes widen then I gripped on his strong and wide shoulders. He placed me on the side of the boat, our bodies' too close. Our skin's almost touching. The hot feeling earlier came back again. This time more intense. "What—" my word was cut off when he spoke. "And dami mo pang sinasabi, sumakay ka na." he demanded using his husky voice. I gasped when I felt his hot breath on my neck, I forgot he's between on my parted thighs. "You should've just told me that!" I said while looking around, trying to look if someone saw us plus, I am trying to hide my red face. "Sakay na." I held on to the side of the boat before carefully entering. I silently sat on my place earlier, beside River. I hissed before looking at River, he's just staring at me while smiling cutely. The kid looks clueless, but I am so embarrassed with my red face, it’s not like we're doing something dirty in front of this kid but... Why do I feel so embarrassed? I scolded myself silently, I should get rid of these thoughts, that man has a kid already plus both of us are guys. It's not right. And for the whole ride back to the island, I was wondering about River's mom, I never saw her nor hear something about her. But why am I so pissed while imagining their happy and complete family? Is it envy? I guess. Do I want a family of my own then? No, I don't. After arriving in their island, I immediately hop from his boat, he helped his kid to get down of the boat before facing me. I pulled out five blue bills from my pocket before handing it to him. He just looked at it then his jaw moved. "Get it." I said coldly. Umiling siya, "Libre na, hindi rin naman maayos ang trato ko sa'yo." he stated. But I insisted, I shouldn't take advantage of his offer, the engine's gas, his service, and their food? They need money to buy some especially for River. He can't let this go, he should accept this and lots of food. "We're not that poor you know, we have money for expenses thanks for the concern." he said sternly. Oh, but I still can't accept that. I don't want to owe anyone anything. I am capable so I should pay. "No, I should pay for your service, but since you don't want to accept the money... What should I do in return? You know, I hate owing someone." that's it I made an offer, hope he'll accept it. The man stared at me for a couple of seconds before sighing. "If you know how to cook then come to our place tomorrow night and cook for us. It's okay if you don't want too though." he said. My mouth gaped opened, but I immediately closed it, I don't know how to cook! But hell, I'm not going to spill that. I agreed before parting our ways. I never touch a spatula my whole life, I have maids, there are so many luxury restaurants where I could dine so... I don't even know how I came in here, just walked by overthinking, I guess. After arriving in my hotel room, I immediately opened a tab to search any Filipino dishes that is easy to cook. This will be hard.
