His enthralling eyes pierced extremely into me.

Anticipating my next move. Waiting for me to lean my head closer.

Minutes of remaining frozen on my place and I already started to notice some hint of impatience from him as his brow slightly lifted.

Sa bahid ng pag-aabang sa mata niya, pati na sa munting pag-angat ng kilay niya ay nabuo ko ang ideyang hindi ko na ito maaari pang patagalin. Gamit ang naipong lakas ay unti-unti ko nang ginalaw ang ulo papalapit sa kaniya.

His attentive eyes watched me closely. Habang lumiliit ang distansya sa pagitan namin ay dahan-dahan ding bumagsak ang tingin niya sa mga labi ko. I instantly felt chills down my spine when I saw something briefly flashing in his eyes at the sight of it.

Kusang tumigil ang paghinga ko nang ilang sandali pa ay tuluyan ko nang naisara ang kaunting espasyong namamagitan sa amin. My bare lips crashed against the lime wedge, feeling every bit and speck of it. Its frosty temperature was very cool and refreshing. Sa lamig na dala noon ay nakaramdam ako ng munting ginaw.

I felt his faint and humid breath sweeping against my skin. His nose releases sultry air that directly grazes on my face. Ang kiliting hatid noon ay nakapaninindig balahibo. I can also smell a mixture of mint and whiskey from his mouth. It was mesmerizing. Tila ako'y nilalasing at hinihila sa kawalan.

I leisurely parted my lips to grip a good amount of the lemon. The sour, acidic taste instantly invaded my tongue. I gradually closed my eyes while devouring its juices. I nibbled it with greed and mania. Every nip and sip was filled with fervor. I seized it deliberately with all my might.

I made sure that nothing from it would be wasted. When I was certain that I was already able to take all its essence, I decided to retreat from the intimacy. I was just about to move my head backwards when I felt something soft fleetingly brushed my lips. My eyes quickly shut wide open. The swift ticklish sensation made me feel some sort of electricity. I was pretty sure it was his lips!

To how and why it happened, I don't know. I was in daze when I was pulling my head back. More so when my gaze darted on his fathomless eyes.

I was in deep haze even after it finished. The game was cut short because the engaged couple received a call from home. I found out that they already have a two-year old toddler who's apparently looking for them in this middle of the night.

"You guys can stay and enjoy the rest of the night though," Ash told everyone.

The others obliged as I unconsciously yawned. Then I just heard Ace telling them that we have to go too. He said that it's getting late so he has to drive me home already.  Sinubukan pa ni Zane na mangumbinsing manatili pa kami ngunit hindi na sumang-ayon si Ace.

Sabik na tumambol ang puso ko habang papalabas kami. s**t! Is this it? Is it finally going to happen?

My nerves are fluttering in excitement while we were heading to his car through his lead. I didn't even bother telling him that I brought my own ride. I can just easily pick that up tomorrow anyway.

May ngiti sa labi ko nang pareho na kaming makapasok sa sasakyan. I was wearing my seatbelt when I heard him release his breath.

"Where do you live?" he asked using his usual deep voice.

I tried to suppress my smile as I coyly tuckered my hair behind my ear.

"You wanna do it in my place?" I delightfully presumed.

I saw the veins on his arms getting more visible as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel. His eyes are just directed in front.

"I'll just drop you home then leave, Iris." he civilly said. "Nothing more."

Natigilan ako sa sinabi niya. Unti-unting umawang ang bibig ko. 

What?! Is he serious?!  After everything that happened, he's still not getting soft for me?!

Padabog kong pinagkrus ang mga braso ko saka galit na ibinaling sa harap ang tingin.

"I'm not telling you my address then," pagmamatigas ko.

I heard him letting out a resigned sigh.

"Iris." he started. "You're under the influence of alcohol," he strictly said with a sense of warning.

Kumunot ang noo ko.

"I don't want to do anything that you might just regret." he added with finality.

Napanganga ako habang pinoproseso ang sinabi niya. I might just regret? Excuse me, hindi pa ba obvious kung gaano ako ka-willing?!

"Ace, I'm not drunk! I just had a few shots and that's way behind my tolerance! I swear I'm clear-headed as hell right now!" I desperately said.

My goodness. Kung alam niya lang talaga kung gaano ako kalakas uminom. I'm used to downing several bottles of liquor when I'm out with my friends in a much wilder crowd and in a not so high-end bar. Yung tipong diretso na mismo naming tinutungga ang alak mula sa bote. Minsan pa nga ay nakaabang na lang ang bibig ko habang si Jess ang may hawak ng bote at nagshu-shoot ng inumin sa bibig ko. Ganun kami katinding mag-night out. I won't deny, lasinggera talaga ako. Baket? Pake mo ba? Pera ko naman ang ginagamit ko kaya walang pakialamanan.

But earlier, I think I just had 4 to 5 small amount of shots?! For heaven's sake, that's measly for the weak flunkees!

May paghihisterya sa mukha ko habang naghihintay ng reaksyon mula sa kaniya. Inalis niya naman ang tingin sa harap atsaka lumingon sakin. Seryoso pa rin ang mga mata.

"Just tell me where you're staying." he restively said. Still unshaken and steady with his notions.

Napasinghap ako nang mag-iwas ng tingin. Sa isip ko ay halos mag-wala na ako habang nagdadabog na tila batang hindi napagbigyan. I can't believe his self-control! Nobody had turned me down like this before. Well, for a record, I've never been this desperate to sleep with somebody. I'm seriously going insane for his constant refusals.

I doggedly crossed my arms on my chest.

"No." I  hardheadedly said.

Binalot kami ng saglit na katahimikan.

"Iris." he depletedly said in an edgy tone.

Nanatiling matigas ang ekspresyon ko habang nakatutok lang sa harap. Hindi siya tinatapunan ng tingin.

We were immersed in a deafening silence when I didn't budge a bit.

Sa huli ay narinig ko ang pagpapakawala niya ng buntong-hininga. It sounds like a worn out sigh of submission.

Umangat ang kilay ko nang simulan niya ang makina ng sasakyan. Pinanood ko ang pagmamaniobra niya habang mariin pa rin ang ekspresyon ko. Hindi pa rin lumalambot ang mukha ko nang pinasibad niya na ang kotse.

Unti-unti lang ngumuso ang labi ko nang makalayo-layo na kami at kalaunan ay lumiko sa isang matayog na hotel.

I whistled silently while peeping outside the window. "Horizon.." I muttered while reading the bold letters at the very top. "I heard you own this," I said while remembering one of the articles I read about him.

Bumaling ako sa kaniya at ngumisi habang iniisip ang pakay namin dito. "Why not just at your own house, though?" I kidded.

I even batted my lashes at him. I don't really mind wherever we're going to do it though. I was just making fun of him. Although.. it would be quite nice to see where he lives.

His expression remained stern while he was taking off his seatbelt. 

"Ihahatid lang kita sa loob." he stated. "You can just spend the night here since you're not telling me your place of residence." aniya bago binuksan ang pinto at lumabas.

Napakurap-kurap pa ko bago sumunod na rin.

He couldn't be serious, right? We couldn't have come this far and still not doing it. 

Lumilipad ang utak ko habang nakasunod sa kaniya. He didn't even bother going to the reception area. Tinahak niya ang daan na tila ba kabisadong-kabisado niya na ang bawat pasikot-sikot at kalakaran dito. I also noticed some employees paying their respect on him.

Dire-diretso ang lakad namin patungo sa elevator. Bakante iyon nang bumukas at pagkapasok namin ay agad niyang pinindot ang 70th floor na siyang pinakahuling numero roon. Few more guests entered the elevator after Ace pressed the button. Napaatras kami para magbigay ng espasyo sa kanila. 

Habang nakasandal ang katawan ko sa may sulok ay nilingon ko siya sa tabi ko.

"Ace seryoso ka ba ron?" I whispered upon remembering what he said. "Iiwan mo ko rito?" mahinang bulong ko.

It didn't take long for his body to turn to me. As always, there was no humor on his face. Bubuka pa lang sana ang bibig niya nang madagdagan ang  sakay  ng elevator. Ilang guests ang sunod-sunod na pumasok, dahilan para sumikip sa loob. Meron pang naka-wheelchair kaya't umusog ang lahat paatras at tuluyang naitulak ang katawan ni Ace palapit sakin.

My brows are starting to furrow in impatience.

He didn't even look at my knotted forehead. His eyes are just glued on my lips.

"Not just because I'm the only one available?" he hoarsely asked.

I saw his adam's apple moved. He then nodded a bit before pulling his head closer to crash his lips against mine.
