CHAPTER THREE

HER MIND DESIRE

-FlASHBACK AND PRESENT-

Zenniel was reading her favorite book of Mr. Amarri Soul when her cellphone rang. She dropped the book on her side and get her cellphone out of her bag. It was angeline who was calling her. She answer it.

"Hey, Where the hell are you?"

"Acacia playground.."

"What? Do you know what time it is now? "

"Of course, It's still Seven in the evening, Why the hurry?"

Angeline gasped.

"Seriously, You actually forgot that it's a big day today.. We're going to SCOTH'S BAR.."

She removed her cellphone from her ears. She's too loud.

"I know.. You Don't have to shout, I'm not deaf.."

"I'll wait you at Jen's salon. You should be there within 30 minutes or else-"

"Fine.." She said in annoyance and cancel the call. If it wasn't for the ice cream, she wouldn't go. It's the first day of the month and all people in their hometown was invited to the opening and Thanksgiving of Scoth Bar that was newly built.

'Maybe the owner was really rich.."

She got her bag and walks fast. Acacia playground wasn't far from their home. It is her usually spot if weekends came, She always had her led light that she use to read to the books she buy at any shops. She doesn't stay at their home especially when she knew her mother would be there. Since the day Her parents had fight, Her mother always blame her for whatever no reason.

Just like now, She got home with josh waiting her at the main door, Frightened.

"Mom's angry again.." he said in a small tone. She just tapped his head and continuously walk inside, Where she met her mother, cross arms looking at her with smug face.

"Where did you go?"

"Outside.." She answered and steps in the stairs.

"I'm still talking to you!! "

"Later mom.." she replied and fasten her pace entering her room. When she's satisfied with her looks, She got her long pink jacket that can cover her body until toes.

"You go home and You're gonna leave again? Why don't you just find work so that We can benefit from you.."

She never paid attention to her mother and got out from their house. She took a cab going to the salon where angeline is.

Although she was hurt by how her mother treats her, She doesn't show it that her heart was pierced. She still wore her elegant smile.

She directly go inside the salon where she finds angeline who was sitting infront of a big mirror while a a man was styling her hair.

"Hey gorgeous.. You got here in no time.."

"Yeah, Wasn't supposed to.." She just boredly answer and sit on one of the chair next to her.

"C'mon.. It'll be fun.."

"Sure it is, if I will have my ice cream.." She murmured.

The man laugh.

"Your friend is so funny.." He said to angeline while she was eyeing him.

"I know.." Angeline answered.

"So mind telling me your name girl?."

"Call me Zen.." She said and smiled.

"Call me Jet, Nice to meet you.."

"Me too.."

"And by the way, You look great, I love your outfit.."

"Thank you.."

Angeline knotted her head.

"Jet! What about me? I am your costumer yet you didn't compliment me!"

Angeline was like a young girl who was complaining just because she wasn't complimented. They laugh while looking at her.

"Girl! You're too beautiful not to be noticed, But your friend is much prettier.."

She just laugh at that. Seems a joke for her.

"Alright. I know.." Angeline said with a smile on her lips.

After some time, They called Jenny if where she is, Only to find out she was at the bar already. She wonder if her parents would come.

'maybe not, Anyway It would be fine..'

It was eight when they arrive at the party. She was still wearing her long pink sweater while her mask was on.

"Do you know why this bar helds a party?"

"Thanksgiving?.."

she boredly answered.

"No, It isn't. It is just an opening party for this bar.." Angeline said with a huge smile on her face.

She remained silent.

'Thanksgiving is much better than just celebrate because of nothing' Her mind says as she glanced around. The floor space was huge. They seat on the center- on a round table that was covered by a gold cloth and in the center of the table was a vase of different flower's.

'Pretty much good..' she commented in her brain.

"Woah, What are you wearing zen? This is not a church.."

She smiled at jenny who sits next to her side and winks. She wasn't Zenniel Red if she doesn't know how to love clothes.

"I know what am i wearing Jenny.."

"Fine.. I won't question again.."

Opening her mouth to response, An announcement was made.

"Ladies and Gentleman, A great evening to all of you. Tonight, We will welcome the son of the owner of this bar, I wouldn't talk much, Let's welcome Efren Scoth with a round of applause.."

And there were applause from the audience.

A man wears a black outfit comes out from the stage, His style and body are so perfectly fit - there was a huge shout from the audience, and she doesn't deny that mostly of it was girls.

'Of course zen. It would be too bad if boys will do..'

She closed her ears using her hands.

"Hi, I am glad to see you here, And without any hesitation, I am officially opening the program." he says and directly sit on his chair at the stage.

Crews were serving food when she excuse herself to go to the toilet room. After they eat,She excuses herself for needing a fresh air. It suffocates her to be in any parties.

After spending much time in the outside, She decides to go back. The party was still going on and some people were dancing at the second floor of the bar, while the others were talking here at the first floor. Her eyes search for her friends but she can't see them.

'Maybe dancing again..' Her mind says.

She walk's in the stairs up to the second floor. Watching her friends and people dancing with each other, She wonder when she will do that.

'Your shy, so apparently you will never have any chance..'

The music stopped and so the people, then the mc stood up, holding his microphone.

"Guys.. We'll be having a game, But this is for only people who are interested .."

"Oooh. What is it?" Audience answered.

She step her feet backward.

"I'll be dropping some questions, Whoever answers it will have a price for Mr. Efren Scoth and his friends.."

She glanced at the right side where she seea bunch of cute guys seating and laughing, and she knew one of them is efren.

There was an eagerness in some of the ladies there. She step her feet again, But Her friends showed at her back.

"Hey there Zen..I thought you don't-"

"I was looking for you guys.." She said with her sarcastic smile.

"Oh c'mon, You know we love parties.." Jenny said.

"Yeah, right.."She said rolling her eyes, as she stand next to them. Her friends seem to excited on the said game.

'Tss.. What a trash..'

"This is a common question and I believe that some of you knows already the answer, But whoever shouts the answer before I finished will be declared as winner.."

"So, Here's come the question. What can one catch that is not thrown?"

"A cold.."

She closed her ears again when jenny shouted, followed by noise of the crowd. It was like a ring on his ears.

'Oh god! My ear hurts..'

"The lady in blue got the correct answer, Now come here for a minute.."

She step her feet again, backward but angeline notices her.

"hey, hey.. Where do you think you're going?"

"Just at the first floor.."

"No, Stay here.. You have to let yourself free okay.."

She sigh knowing that angeline will not let her.

"So what's your name?"

"I am jenny.."

"So for your reward, You are given a ticket to go at a high class restaurant together with Mr. Ace Jhonson.."

'Well, not bad at all.. It seems they were not the guys I think..'

"Well, That's a fantastic reward. Mind if I talked to him?"

The audience laughed at how jenny speaks directly.

"Her mouth really have no break.." She heard angeline commented. The mc was about to speak when Efren handed him a white paper and said some words to the mc.

"Sound's interesting.."

"I wonder what did he tell to him?"

"Yeah, Why it have to be a secret lol?"

The audience started to talk to each other while she was quietly obseving.

"What would be the reward? Another date from those handsome people?"

"Well, Who knows.. You know I haven't have time for that.."

"What if Talking with him outside?"

Her glanced quickly returned to angeline. Well, It wasn't bad if she tries to answer, only if she knew.

"Okay, This is a question made from Efren. Whoever give a correct answer would have a reward.."

"So, The question is How tall is Vanezuela's Angel Falls?"

The people quiet for a while.

"Whoa, What kind of question is that.." angeline commented again. She just smile a little.

"Hey, We're not a mathematician.."

"absolutely, What kind of question is that?"

"So hard.."

She try to raise her hand to be able to catch the mc attention, and successfully, She was notified.

" Valenzuela's Angel Fall have a measurement of 3212 in feet. If you convert it to meter, It would be 979.."

"Amazing.. Your answer is great. Kindly come here for a moment please.."

She walked silently while angeline giggling at the back. She reach the stage..

"What a great memory you have.."

"Thank you.."

"So what's your name?"

"Just call me Zen.."

"Zen, Are you excited of your reward.."

"Not exactly, But I hope It will do good.."

"So, Here's the deal, You and Efren will talk at the third floor for a couple of hours.."

'It wasn't bad at all...'

"Fine with me.."

"By the way, My name is Drake..Nice to meet you.."

"Nice to meet you too.."

'Go at the hallway, He said he's waiting there..'

She nodded and walk towards to the right where there is way going to the hallway of the building. There, She saw him standing and his back was on the wall. She silently walk and stop when there is five meters away from him.

"I knew you will get the answer.." He said and glanced at her. Now that He's not wearing any cap anymore, She was like looking to a very blessed man who owns a gorgeous body, Not to mention his face was damn attractive.

"How?.."

"Well, I just know it.."

"Insticts maybe.."She murmured.

"Yeah, Exactly.."

She was a little shock when he respond. She doesn't know he heard what she said in her breath.

"Good at hearing?"

Efren laugh.

"Sort of.." He answered while they were heading to the elevator. She doesn't answered, and they walk intside the elevator. Efren touch the close button.

"You didn't dance.."

It wasn't a question. It was a statement.

'Does he eyeing me?'

"Is there any problem with it?"

"Well, Most of the ladies now loves to dance.."

She didn't respond.

"So you love to read?"

"Yes.."

"Awesome.."

The elevator opened and she was shock to what her eyes saw.

"This is breathtaking view.."

The walls were painted white. And the glass window refelcts the shine of the moon. A round sassy table was at the next of the windor.

"Thank you.."

She walks in and glanced at her left side. There was a bunch of books.

"Wow! You love books too?"

"Yeah.."

"Perfect, Can I borrow some?" She excitedly answer, but when she realise what she said, She tries to explain..

"Well, I mean uh, uhm.. I was just thinking..-"

"Sure, You can.."

"Really? "

"Of course.."

She happily hugged him.

"Uh sorry, I was too overwhelmed.." She said and turned her back, Going into the bookshelves. She scan for a moment and found a book of love.

"You wanna come here?"

Getting the book, She sat next to him in a smooth sofa. The Tv was on .

"Would I tuned off the tv or?"

"No, am fine.. I can read with.."

"Nice.."

She began to flip the pages, eyes were concentrated with the book.

'What the heck!'

She closed the book not because she didn't want to read but seriously, The first part of the story was a rated spg.

"Why did you stop reading?"

"Nothing.." She answered and gets her feet off, Hitting the book that fell on the floor, Not minding it to get, She Sit in the chair near the window where she can see the fascinating lights inside their town. Maybe, She was studying now if her mother allow her to enroll for her Third semester.

"How old are you Zen.."

"Why would I tell you?"

It seems like her mood suddenly change.

"Wait, Are you mad?"

"No."

"Do you want to get back?"

"Yeah, Probably.."

"Oh? Okay, I'll escort you around.."

Her mind change a little bit when Efren unconsciously bite his lips infront of her while he wears his black jacket. She is not that too dumb that her desire for a long passionate dream was awaken.

As they are in second floor, where they hear people's laughter, Efren speak.

" I would be here for now, I had a great time with you.."

He said while her eyes were fix into him. Her desire to kiss and taste a man's lip urge her to do the craziest thing she might think she'd ever done. Grabbing him with a little force, She crashes her lips into his.

Efren seemed to be a bit shock but then, He join her. His tongue was exploring her oral and It gives her a satisfaction.

'So that's why, some women loves to kiss..' She can't help but to commented in her mind. When she felt his hand on his waist, She pulled and cut off the kiss. Efren knotted his head.

"What was that?"

"You're great.." She said and wink at him. Turned her back while a fantastic smile appeared on her lips.

"I'm sorry about earlier.." She unconsciously put down the frame she was holding when she hear's efren voice.

"You should be.."

"That's why I'm here.."

"I want to sleep, please leave.."

"Goodnight baby.."

The last thing she heard from him before the door closed. She get her cellphone and called his brother.

"Hello sis.."

"How's my daughter?"

"Still, there is no change.."

"I'm coming there tomorrow so you can go to your class.."

"Okay sis."

"Thank you.."

Josh was the only person she can trust inside her family.

The knock on the door makes Zenniel wake up.

"Yes?" She answered in a cold voice.

"Good morning ma'am, Your clothes are here. " She hastily get up and open the door.

"Kindly changes clothes ma'am, Their waiting you at the dinner room.."

"Okay-"

"Call me ella ma'am.."

"Okay ella, Thanks and you can leave.."

She picks a pair of blue highwaist pants and a hanging shirt. After some time, She headed for the dinner room where she saw Efren parents, sitting there.

'Oh no! Not again..'

But to her surprise, She was greeted by them with a calm tone.

"C'mon, Let's eat.."

Unable to answer, She sat quietly on a chair that is far from them.

"I'm sorry about yesterday iha.."

And she was more surprised when mrs. scoth seek for forgiveness.

'What the hell is going on' Her mind was completely shock.

'Okay, Calm Zenniel, Whatever they are planning, Just act like you didn't care at all..'

When she find herself, she answered.

"It's okay, I wasn't hurt at all.."

After the breakfast, Efren dropped her by at the hospital.

"I'll come here after my meeting end.."

"okay.." She just coldly answered, and walked away. She walked through a long hallway till she reaches the elevator.

The elevator was in it's time to closed when a Clean and neat hand stop it. The guy has a very approachable appearance and He was smiling at her.

'No, not at all..'

"Uhm, Hi.. I'm reynan Shido, and you are..?"

"Zen.." She answered shortly. Moments of silence passed.

"Would you mind if i ask you something?"

"hmm?"

Reynan pull some thing on her pocket, and he then showed to her. It's a picture.

"Do you know her? I've been looking at her ever since."

She remained silent, Heads down.

"No, I don't know her.."

He sigh and scratch his back.

"But why are you looking for her..?"

"Well, just a sort of some important things.."

Shrugging, She didn't answered. The elevator stop, And she get out. Looking back at reynan, He was smiling. And it's makes her think of something.

'Why the hell did she know me?'
