| Makati City, Philippines |
In one of the City’s biggest buildings, there is a man that was able to build a whole company, without any sponsors, without anyone helping him for the first year, he’s able to turn a small company with all those compromises into something he can confidently say, “I built this myself.” Waiver Falter made the Falter Company, a Marketing Company that sells clothing and bags, he’s now the CEO of the company he rose to the top of Makati City.
Amidst this, Waiver has a daughter, named Wei Vel Falter, from his name and his wife that died in her labor, Velvet, she’s the only child of the Falter family, but since Velvet died, their family was disbanded easily, one of the reasons is that Waiver doesn’t want to bother themselves with family meetings, and when the company has one, only Waiver is the one that attends such meetings, the other reasons will be later.
Though they’re successful, in terms of wealth and reputations, their family was broken the moment Velvet died, and because of this, Waiver never found anyone ever again.
“Honey! I thought maaga ka, it’s noon!” Waiver shouted, calling Wei while drinking his coffee.
“I am, papa, my blower was broken, kaya nag-opt ako sa, hairdryer,” Wei said, going down their stairs.
Wei is currently building her own company just like what his father did for the Falter Company, except right now, Wei is still doing a lot of side jobs and service jobs to fund the company she’s, her father, Waiver was able to fund his company because the sponsors of that company are his friends, who he now work within the company.
“But that’s the same, they blow wind,” Waiver said, as he puts down his coffee mug after he finished it, “bakit kailangan mong icompare ang dalawa?” he asked her as he was confused.
“They’re different, papa, blower blows warm or hot wind, ang dryer nag-boblow lang ng malakas na hangin, they’re not the same since the hairdryer as a blower to smooth my hair takes longer,” Wei said, answering his question.
“It’s manufactured to do the same thing, Wei, anyway, tutuloy mo ba talagang mag build ng company? It will be hard, I tell you,” Waiver said, asking her.
“Opo, papa, I want to show to you that I can be independent, I’ve already finished college and you’re still keeping me, gusto ko na ring magkaroon ng sarili kong buhay,” Wei said.
“Akala ko ba nasabi ko na sa iyo ang dahilan, Wei, you’re the only family I have left, I don’t want you to be separated with me,” Waiver said, reminding his daughter again.
“Papa, I’m not going to die, gusto ko lang mabuhay sa sarili kong bahay that I worked hard for, you know I can already buy one, I just want to do it on my own,” Wei said, informing her father again.
“You are saving all of the allowances I’m giving you monthly; you know I can give you a kick-starter for this company that you want to build, right?” Waiver said, suggesting her again.
“Papa, paulit ulit nalang tayo, sige na, I’ll be going to my works now,” Wei said, she kisses her father’s cheeks before leaving.
“Her makeup always smells, it’s not a bad smell, but she must’ve forgotten that I’m allergic to some of its ingredients,” Waiver thought, “but I’ll try to not be insensitive with the little things she chooses, I will just take my medications for it later,”
Wei Vel Falter wants to create her own book publishing company, a sub-branch of a bigger company from outside the Philippines, and since that company has already established itself in many areas of the world, they just need to get permission and license to use their company’s name and also have their books to be shipped and sold in that company.
She wants to make a sub-branch of that company in Makati City because the books they’re selling were not available in the Philippines, she wants to make their books available so that the Philippines know about the great books they’re publishing in their company.
“Building the company is easy, convincing the company online, from overseas is hard, kailangan ko lahat ng tulong na kailangan ko, hihingi ako ng tulong kay papa o sa company niya once na nahihirapan na talaga ako,” Wei thought, arriving at her part-time job.
“I guess it’s easier to just go to their actual company to convince them, imbis na gawin ko yun online,” Wei murmured to herself while changing her clothes that’s required for the job.
She then started working after she changed.
3 hours in her part-time job, she quickly went to the resting area to eat her lunch, she usually eats quickly so that she can go back to working again, and since she’s working as a cashier at a book store and as the Manager’s assistant which makes her part-time job’s salary in the book store into equal to full-time worker’s salary.
Though this generated her hate in the book store by the other workers, it didn’t Falter her since she has a dream, unlike the other workers who are just working to just earn, she is one of the few people that has an actual one.
She then went home after 3 more hours have passed so that she can move to her next part-time job, which is an online author for the publishing company that she aims for; she’s also an editor of a few writers in the Philippines.
And just like what’s established, despite there are many writers, editors in the Philippines, there isn’t a single store for the books of that company, since a big company like Dreams that wants to aim for the big, they will definitely leave the Philippines for last to work on.
“I wonder what I should write next?”
