Hindi na ako nakipag-talo. Actually, kanina pa kami nag-aaway. Naglalakad lang kami sa mapunong lugar. Kasama pa ba ito sa University?
We halt on a place where there's a not-so-high and not-so-low wall.
"What are we going to do here? Going to have a picnic?" I ask sarcastically.
My mood has changed. I'm annoyed. It's a suicide to follow him, after all.
The place is full of dry leaves because of the trees everywhere.
"Escaping." He coolly replies.
"Uh, you call that escaping by climbing up to that wall?"
"Yeah. If you don't want to, I'll leave you here. Bahala kang bumalik sa room ng mag-isa." See? How can we not argue about this?
What an arrogant guy. He leaves me no choice. I don't want to spend my time at school, so I need to climb to that freaking wall. It is not my first time doing this, anyway. I have escaped for how many times.
I rule, I know.
"I'm wearing a skirt, Mister Cain." I say, trying to act like a spoiled brat. It is not the skirt, I just want to flip my Drama Queen side.
He only stares impassively to me.
Two-inches above the knee ang skirt namin, along with a pair of black up-to-knee high socks, which is paired with our white long sleeves polo and blazer.
"What now?" I ask in bratty manner while raising a brow.
"Tch." He whizzes irritably as he takes off his blazer. "Drape this on your hip." Ancy gruffly says, handing me the blazer.
I take it with a snicker to my face. "Well appreciated, Chance." I simper a gratitute.
"Tch. You and your sarcasm, you sly woman."
I shrug only. He noticed. "You climb first."
He never reply and in one swift move, he's now on top of the wall.
Well, impressive. Parang hindi man siya nagkasakit. "Just jump as high as you can." He instructs, reaching his hands out.
I know how to. But since I'm on my Drama Queen mode, I would like to act like a lame woman. Curse this.
I jump high, he catches my hands for support. Dahil medyo malakas ang force ng pagkatalon ko, na-out of balance kami.
And now, we are falling.
I forcefully close my eyes.
Wishing everything will be fine.
Then we both groan as we land on the ground.
I open my eyes and already meet Chance's gazes.
My nose is into his.
Our lips are just a centimeter apart.
My both hands are place on his chest, while his hands are wrapped around my waist.
"Are you okay?" I ask in low voice and stare stupefyingly at him.
"Yeah." He mutters, returning the stare.
As I meet his gazes, I'm completely captivated with his chiseled features.
Snap it! I tell myself while literally shaking my head.
"Sorry, Ancy." I excuse and compose myself. I grab his arm and pull his weight, guiding him to stand. "You're not that hurt, are you?"
"Not really. There are tons of leaves here." I nod to his boring reply.
I notice his white polo is bit messy. I remove his blazer. "Here, you'll need this." Medyo nadumihan ang polo niya.
He takes his blazer while smirking. "Thank you for this."
"You're welcome," I reply irritatedly.
"Heh." Chance smirks, chuckling on his throat. "I really should be the one who owe you a gratitude, eh?"
"Yah, you should, boo."
"Boo?" He repeats in confusing tone.
"Boo." I repeat. "My way of telling that I'm not sincere to someone or something."
"Really, huh? Well, I'm not also sincere when I thanked you." He says, sticking his hands to his pocket. "I thought it was an endearment."
"It's not. I don't do endearments."
"I know too well. You only say invective words."
Hindi ko na siya pinansin, instead, I walk fast to stay away from him.
"Where are you going?" I hear him ask, and I'm just continuing my high pace of walking.
"Escaping!" I respond proudly in a loud voice.
"Ah. You're escaping, huh?" He scoffs mockingly, "Beat me, you'll be missing!" He shouts, because I'm now quite far to him.
I pause on walking. I arch an eyebrow as I whirl around to look at his location. "What?" I question, giving him a perplexed look.
"The way is in here." He points the right way of path. "If you continue walking there, good luck then." He states in stuffy manner and walks away.
I puff as I make face. "You are . . . ugly!" I irritably say and start running to reach him.
"You're just stupid, admit it." He insults when I reach him.
"I will always hate you."
"But you're still with me. How is that?" I can't reply. He's right. Why am I still with him. His voice is playful, but he's boringly looking at me. "Come here, Nat."
And silently, he quickly encircles a hand around my shoulders. Little did I know, he pins my back on a tree. Here is his play again.
"If this is one of your pranks, I don't want it." I say with a serious tone and voice.
"Nah, do you want to know why I brought you here?"
I raised a brow, "Tell me, then."
"Because it is the perfect time to violate you."
"That is against feminism, you know." I smirk, "But before you can violate me, I have killed you already."
"Really?"
"Yes, because it is the perfect time to murder you."
"Are we going to murder each other, huh?"
I shrug, pursing my lips. "You started this."
"Right." He comments and chuckles. Surprisingly, he puts his other free hand around my waist.
I sense him lowering his head and felt him nuzzling my hair. "You really smell good, right, Nat?" he smirks a little.
Just a second passes, he touches my nape with his lips. Millions of little voltage crawls up to my skin.
I have my will to smack his face up, but I only let him. His lips travels down to my neck. I also felt him slowly licked my bare skin with his tongue.
I tried very hard not to let out any gasps from my mouth. I only closed my eyes and let him do what have started. Then he just rested his chin on my shoulder. Seemed like he notices it. "Aren't you scared?" he questions me.
I stay silent for a while and answer shortly, "No."
"Why, though?"
"It feels awful, but . . . I trust you."
"Heh, you trust someone like me, precious?" He says and I feel his lips to the crook of my neck.
Standing like a rock, his lips goes upper—up to the shell of my ear. He nibbled my ear and slightly sucking it. Damn . . . This feels so hell. I felt a one hand is gliding down, feeling the curve to my body. He even squeezes my hip a bit.
"You taste sweet, Natsumi." He whispers seductively with his evil smirk.
I sigh, "Say, Chance . . . Are you attracted to me?"
He does nothing after and then faces me with a soft, yet lonely expression, "Not really." he answers and cup my cheek with his free hand. "It's just . . . I found comfort in you, because you have the same eyes as I do."
I swallow a gasp inside of me. He knows. He saw it . . . my dead eyes.
Staying silent, I only put my head on his chest. Then I start to whisper, "Chance . . . you're a devil."
I don't know what's between us, but I feel like I want to depend on him . . . more, even more.
"And you're a poison to me, Your Highness." that's the only thing he said to me and unclasped his arms around me. "Do you want to go somewhere?"
I look at him, eye to eye. "Is there a place here that we can have some fun?"
"There's a children plaza nearby, if you want to."
Then it's decided, we're going to a children plaza where there's a playground.
Great. As soon as we arrived at the plaza, the place is full of people. Mostly, parents and children. We are just walking, passing by. Chance told me that there is an arcade house here, and we can waste our time only playing boring games. I like that. Not.
I saw the playground. Children are having fun with their parents. It is a pain to say, but I feel very bitter about it. I never rode these things or go to any kinds of children's parks. All I can remember was playing my swords and guns on a battleground. And my parents never played with me, instead they were killing me to learn how to live.
Absurd, I know.
And as if on cue, I remember the School Festival.
The Horror House.
The creepy creature shits.
The Monique Taylor's Bitchy Plan.
The crying moment.
The ugly compliment of Ancy.
I hate that day.
I thought, I can enjoy that day by riding all the amusement's rides; playing all the booths and arcades. But no, everything is ruined—even to myself. Since I was born here in this world, I spent all my time learning to kill.
I never had a normal life. I remember, when I was nine—turning ten—I started killing peoples.
I was born this kind of way, I live this kind of way, and maybe, I'll die this kind of way.
"Hey." Chance snaps me to reality. "Are you okay? You were spacing."
Napansin ko rin na tumigil ako sa paglalakad at nakatitig lang sa mga bata nang walang buhay.
I immediately remove all my thoughts and look at him. I give him a sweet grin, "I'm fine, Ancy. I'm just reminiscing." I alibied.
"Mind to share with me?"
I think for about seconds to tell him. Since he told me about his pasts, I should return the favor. Though, telling him lies.
"When I was a child, my Dad and I were going here. But now, it had changed. I miss him."
I sigh on my mind. How many times do I have to lie?
"Is that so." he says, "Do you want yo stop by?"
"Nah," I shake my head. "Let's go to the arcade."
"Okay," he concures.
Later that day, we found the arcade. May malapit pala na ganito sa school. I can stay here when I'm bored attending class. But arcades are also boring, so naw.
Nagkayaya kaming maglaro. I challenge him to play the virtual g*n firing game. Well, I'm good at it. And what's with the odds, because our scores are always tied.
We played other games, and even the weird-a*s games.
We never notice the time and it's 16:40 in the afternoon. Wala nga pala si Kuya Mike, walang magsusundo sa akin. Maybe I'll hop with Nate today.
"Ancy, I'll just go the restroom." Paalam ko at pumayag naman siya.
The reason why I'm heading to the restrooms is because I felt a pair of eyes watching us.
While heading my way to the restroom, that presence is following me. Bigla na lamang magpapakit, tapos biglang mawawala.
That person may sensed that I already caught him or her.
I roam my eyes around.
And bingo.
She's a girl and intently looking at me. I return the intense look and let out a pinch of bloodlust.
Why all of the place and time? Why now?
I can't identify if it she's a friend or enemy. Soon, I came to the restroom. It's both unfortunate and fortunate that I'm only the person inside.
Then someone comes in, same as the aura of the girl a moment ago. I faced her and she's leaning her back on the door.
"What do you want?" I open the conversation.
She silences herself, not answering me. She have a very light blond hair, white as snow skin, and lips that are red.
Snow White. But I guess she's the witch.
"If you're not going to say anything, let me out of this place." I state as I walk in front of her.
She remains quiet, not moving an inch. A moment after when she sighs, "You don't have to be here." She states finally. "Haven't you noticed that this place is surrounded by the enemies?"
Now that she have said it, my inner gut had its answers. By the time I came here, there are some presences that have the intensed malice.
So I'm trapped in a cage full of lions?
"I noticed." I answer.
"Then why are you still here?"
"To have some fun." I shrug off. Really, that's my reason.
"Futile." she asserts. "While you're having fun, it might be the end of that man who's with you."
I didn't respond. She's right. This is a selfish act of mine.
"If you don't want him to be involved in this situation," says Snow White. "Please go back where you from and make them safe."
"What do you know, huh? And who are you?" I demand, raising my voice. "You're talking as if you know everything about me."
"I can't tell you this time." She says in stoic face. "I only came here to warn you, Your Majesty. If you don't want them to get involved, just stay away from them." She turns her back, "I'm sorry for the commotion. Just be safe."
"Hey." I call, but she ignores me and goes away.
What else does she know? Anyway, I have to go back where Chance is.
"You took so long." Chance demanded as soon as I reached him.
"Why not? I stayed there because the name itself tells that it is a room for rest, right?" Uh, what the hell I am saying? "Can you get it? Restrooms, room for rest."
"Can I kill your lame-a*s pun?" he deadpanned.
I smile, "Uwi na lang tayo." and invite. It's 5:10 already. It's not a good thing if we stayed longer here.
Habang pauwi, (taking the path we took a while ago), my nerves sense a familiar presence. Hurriedly, I feel a metal thing coming to Chance's way. I immediately unleash my baleful senses and push Chance. I eyed the shuriken and it digs on a tree trunk.
The real game has begun.
Sunod-sunod na nag-ulanan mga shurikens, dali-dali kong tinayo si Chance. We are both running as I'm protecting him.
"Chance," I call him coldly while hiding behind a tree. Little by little, more enemies is yet to come. Stronger malicious intent, the stronger the enemies. "Let's split destination."
"No, Natsumi." He opposses, holding my shoulders. "I'll go with you and I can't leave you in the middle of this."
"No time to argue with you." With my murderous eyes, I gaze at Chance. "Just follow what I said, Chance. And don't defy me." I order with an ice voice.
I witness a surprised expression lines across his face.
He gives up a sigh, "Just be safe."
Then he went off to the place where I instructed him. My plan is to create a diversion. I let Chance to go away, because I will be the bait for the diversion. It is only the way to protect him.
There aren't much murderous people here. But I bet they are strong.
"Tsk." I hiss and catch two shurikens using my fingers.
Then, one-by-one, six masked guys show. They are not ordinary, they're middle-class reapers. Medyo malakas sila kumpara dati sa parking lot. Everyone of them are holding katanas and I have nothing except my kunais and knife.
I unhide myself and face them, then I surprised them with my kunai. Since they are all pros, they only block it.
No choice. I've got to face them in a hand-to-hand combat.
Then, the first guy who has a katana strives first. Compared with kunai, it is obvious that I have no chance to win. I'm just dodging all his attacks, finding a right attempt to kill him.
When the second guy is about to attack, a sudden arrow shot his throat.
I gasp silently. Who killed him?
I follow where that arrow comes from, and there's an unknown person who's killing the left swordmen.
And in a quiet moment, he successfully defeats them.
I can feel this person's smirk as it goes in front of me.
And I just notice that he's man.
He removes his mask and promptly bows, "Pleasure to meet you, My Lady."
"Rise." I say, "Let me see your face."
He lifts his head with a calm smile.
"I know you." I speak, "You're one of the Trinity Seven, right?"
"Yes, My Lady."
Tanned-skin, spiky eyes, and black-haired guy. He also has the looks, and has the same height of Ancy.
"Wait, si Chance!" I exclaim as I remember him. "We need to help him."
"Worry not, Lady Natsumi." He formally says, "He's with Clint—one of the Trinity Seven."
I sigh in relief. "Great. Where are they now?"
"Please wait, Milady, while I'm contacting him." He excuses and presses the transmitter places on his ear.
"Yo, man!" He greets to the Clint, I think. "How are you? I'm already with Lady Natsumi . . . Okay, good! Let us have a rendezvous in our meeting place, then. Yes, see yah."
I grin at this guy. "I can tell that they're in a good hand."
"Fortunately, Lady."
