Chapter 30

Leyla strut down at a famous five star hotel restaurant. This is where Kira have agreed to meet her. As soon as she got the information she needed, she did not hesitate to call the model.

"Secretary!" she heard Kira loudly call for her. Making sure that people from the nearby table could hear.

"Good afternoon Mis Kira," she greeted.

Kira pushed her half empty glass of orange juice, "Oh, you can have it, she offered then giggled to herself.

"No thank you, I don't take interest on things that I perceive as dirty. Might as well finish it. You might need something to quench your thirst after we talk." Kung sa asaran lang naman, tiyak na hindi papatalo itong si Leyla.

She can attack fiercely but still manage to show her very sweet smile.

"Are you trying to piss me off you b*tch? If I know, you are here because of Rui's order. Ano? Natatakot na ba siya? Isang simpleng blind item at takot na siyang malaman ng tao kung ano ang ginawa niya sa akin?"

"Pfftt~" Leyla covered her mouth to stop herself from laughing out loud. "Oops, sorry. I didn't mean to. It's just so funny to hear such dumb words coming from you face to face. Amusing I must say."

Kira forcefully slammed both of her hands to the table as she stop her urge to scream as loud as she can. Looking at Leyla's eyes, she couldn't see any fear at all. Somehow she felt like she's the one in danger when she totally planned to threaten her. The sole reason why she accepted her invitation in a heart beat.

"I am here to show you something Miss Kira. A simple gift if you will," Leyla stated. Not minding how the woman in front of her is almost growling at her.

On her phone she played a video, a CCTV footage of the eventful night. And Kira's face turned white.

Her palms felt clammy as she watched herself push a poor old man to open Rui's door and give him a load of cash to pay for it. The next scene was when Rui got home. She can clearly see him get inside the condo unit. And minutes later, he's struggling to run out of it.

"The-the night of the assault, this- my evidence! I can use it as evidence!"

"Come on now, you're a model not an actress." Paalala ni Leyla sa kan'ya. "I know that you have wrote a letter and swore by it to an attorney already-"

"What! How did you-"

"You don't need to know how I know things, you might not get it," natatawang sagot ni Leyla. "I have the exact copy of your signed statement. Assault that lasted for two hours? He forced you into the room?" she read out loud.

"I- I have evidences-"

"What evidence? The staged CCTV footage you made three days after the said night? I got proofs to debunk that too. You see, when you pay for things, you have to do it correctly. And remember that it's not only you who has the money."

Kira was out of words to throw. She couldn't think of anything else to hit her back. She watched her elaborate plan to crumble down into pieces.

"But- but-"

"Now there are two options for you Miss Kira," Leyla layed down a printed piece of agreement in front of her. "Here is a contract, once you sign in here you are agreeing to stay out of Mr. Rui's life, and stop all of the slander that you are doing. You have to publicly admit that you are in the wrong."

"Ganoon na lang? Paano kung ayaw ko? You can't force me! That's illegal."

"Oh gosh no! How pathetic, I would never force someone! That is why I am giving you the second option." Leyla sat back and crossed her arms. "Of course if you decided to continue with this nonsense, you will give me no choice but to fight. To be honest, I am excited to see how well you'll do in keeping up to your lies. It's amusing to me, really."

Her words are straight up daggers, consecutively stabbing her. Slowly demoralizing her and making her.

"I will give you enough time to think about it, I'll leave this copy to you okay? I hope you come up with a decision soon." Leyla flashed her a quick smile to infuriate Kira even more.

"You really think you can scare me? You are literally nothing!"

"Am I? Then why are you shaking? Come on Miss Kira, make it a bit believable will you? " she left a thousand at the table. "Here, my treat."

"What a b*tch," she heard Kira whisper.

"By the way, if you ever see me again someday, never challenge me like this. You have no idea how much I've been waiting to ruin someone's life." She lowered herself to watch her own reflection on Kira's terrified eyes, "I know so much about you, I can dig up as ton of dirt if I wanted to. But you? You know nothing about me. Do you really expect me to fear you? Wake up."

An just like that, Kira was left alone at the table with a bunch of curious eyes watching her. As she watched the confident secretary walk away, Kira knew that she just met her biggest obstacle yet.

Leyla took a deep breath right as she entered her car. She knew that with what she did, Kira would halt all of her evil plans against Rui. She can tell how troubled she was, talagang umubra ang paninindak niya sa babae.

Mabuti nalang at sa loob lamang ng sampung minuto ay nakuha na ni Rachel ang lahat ng kailangan niyang pruweba. Ang natitirang kailangan nalang niyang gawin ay ang kausapin ang matalik na kaibigan ni Rui.

"Mr. Shawn, I just talked to Kira," she reported. "I can tell that she will not continue her plans, at least not right now. She will need more time to come up with more lies to defeat those that I have. Kung gusto niya na lumaban, sigurado ako na matatalo natin siya, easily."

"Wha- huh? Tapos na?" Shawn exclaimed.

"Yes Sir, ngayon kung itutuloy niya pa rin ang paninira kay Sir Rui, may nakahanda na akong plano. She will not get away with this."

"That's amazing Peanut!"

"Peanut?"

"Oh yeah, yeah. I'm with my best friend right now. Just chilling you know?"

"Peanut? Who the f*ck?" she heard Rui's voice interrupt.

"Oh I get it. I'm on my way back there Sir."

After the phone call, Rui lightly kicked Shawn's leg who was standing beside him. "Peanut? Who is that? Your new girl?" natatawang tanong niya. "What kind of endearment was that? Yikes!"

"New girl ka d'yan. Hindi no! Diyos ko po! Mahal ko pa ang buhay ko!" he responded. "Takot ko lang sa'yo," bulong niya pa.

"Huh?"

"Wala, wala. Masyado kang marami ang tanong. Bored ka ba masyado kasi wala 'yong beauty Queen mo?"

Hindi maitago ni Rui ang ngiti dahil sa narinig, "Stupid, stop teasing. Lalo na kapag nand'yan siya, baka mailang siya."

"Hina mo naman, kapag nga inaasar 'di ba mas nagkakatuluyan? At isa pa, nakita ko kung paano kayo kalapit kahapon!"

Nagbago ang itsura ni Rui, "You did? So, did you see how she dealt with my attack?"

"I did. To be honest I still can't believe it. Sa buong buhay ko, doon ko pa lang nakita na may makapagpakalma sa'yo nang ganoon kabilis. Parang magic!"

Rui nodded, "I know, it's too good to be true. That's why it is scary."

"Scary? Sira! Don't ever think that way again."

Rui looked up, he's hearing it again. The distinct tone of Shawn's voice when he's being a serious, caring brother to him.

"A lot of magical moments in life are easily ruined by fear. Don't let that happen to you, sayang Rui. Just enjoy what you have, keep it that way. I can see it in your eyes, masaya ka dahil sa presence niya, just take it and cherish it forever."
