CHAPTER 3: The Annoying Girl

It’s been a week after the Drebber and Trevelyan Double Murder Case and it’s getting boring here. I need to ask Uncle Dy later if he has some cases for me dahil kung hindi ay baka tuluyan nang kalawangin ang brain cells ko sa sobrang boring ng buhay ng isang normal student.
Napakurap-kurap pa ako nang ilang beses habang tinitingnan ang matandang professor namin na nasa unahan.
“Everyone get one-fourth sheet of yellow paper, we’ll be having a quiz today!" I heard my professor said after the long discussion. Kaya pala siya napangiti kanina nang mapansing tahimik ang buong klase.
Jeez! Surprise quiz again?
"Ma'am, di ba pwedeng next meeting na lang?"
"Oo nga Ma'am, may meeting pa ang faculty di ba?"
As expected, most of my classmates complained. I looked at my professor's determined face and sighed. She doesn't have any plans on retreating now. Binuksan ko na lang yung bag ko to get a sheet of yellow paper.
Asan na yun?
Mukhang naiwan ko pa nga!
“Here!”
Lumingon ako sa katabi ko at saka inabot yung inaabot niyang yellow paper.
“Thanks,” I said to her then immediately wrote my name. Maya-maya pa'y nagsimula nang magtanong yung professor namin.
“What do you call to the process of blah blah blah..,”
Easy questions again. Seriously? Parang di naman surprising yung mga questions! Tsk!
Teka, bakit parang may nangungulbit sa tabi ko?
Hmm...
“Next question, give the three factors on blah blah blah..,”
Sinulat ko yung sagot ko.
May nangungulbit na naman. I'm starting to get annoyed.
“Ui,” bulong ng katabi ko.
“What?” pabalik kong bulong sa kanya. She’s the one who gave me the yellow paper a while ago.
“Anong sagot dun sa no. 3?”
“What?”
“Sabi ko anung sagot dun sa—“
“Ms. Sheedo, stop talking!”
“Sorry ma’am,” she said while pouting.
I just ignored her until we finished answering the quiz. Tumayo na ako para lumabas ng room. May one-hour break pa naman before the start of my next class.
“Wui”
Saan kaya makapunta?
“Hey wait!”
Hmm... siguro sa canteen na lang...
“I said wait!” sabi nung girl na bigla na lang humarang sa daraanan ko, medyo hinihingal pa siya at hindi maipinta ang mukha sa sobrang inis.
“Bakit ba?” I asked.
“Ikaw! Bakit di mo agad sinagot yung tanong ko kanina? Yan tuloy nahuli pa ko ni ma’am!” she said while pouting. Di naman siya mahilig magpout niyan noh?
“’Cause I’m not a cheater?” I answered her with sarcastic tone.
“Ihh! Hindi ako nakapag-aral ihhh! Sana sinagot mo na lang yung tanong ko!! Isang number lang naman 'yun!”
“It’s not my fault kung di ka nakapag-aral o nakinig sa lecture ni Ma'am kanina,” sagot ko sa kanya. Ipinagpatuloy ko na yung paglalakad ko. Sumunod naman siya saking maglakad.
“Hmm... if I know di mo rin alam yung sagot,” may halong pang-aasar niyang sabi.
Napatigil ako dahil dito. Naniningkit na hinarap ko naman siya.
“Pwede bang huwag mong ilevel yung IQ ko sa IQ mo?” pagkasabi ko nun, tinalikuran ko na siya.
“Hmm sabagay, balita ko genius ka daw, totoo ba yun?” tanong niya. Naglalakad pa rin siya sa tabi ko.
Jeez! She’s so annoying! Di niya ba ko titigilan?
Maya-maya pa'y nakarating na rin ako sa canteen. Umorder na ako ng makakain ko tapos umupo sa isang table.
“Wow! I don’t know you love sweets!” malakas niyang sabi sabay baba ng sarili niyang tray sa puwesto sa harap ko. Di ko na lang siya kinibo.
Kinain ko na yung mga inorder ko—2 slices of chocolate cake, chocolate bars and choco-milkshake. I love sweets okay? Walang kokontra.
“OMG! OMG!”
Napatingin ako sa kanya. Problema nito?
Tiningnan ko naman yung tinitingnan niya.
A couple? Ah hindi.. mukhang magkagalit... maya-maya lumabas din sila.
“Nakita mo yun?”
“Ang alin?”
“Si Ms. Ice Queen!! OMG!!”
“Ice queen?”
“Yes!! The legendary Ice Queen!! Siya kaya yung pinakamatalino sa buong engineering ditto sa Elite’s Academy!! As in!! super cool niya promise!!”
“Tss.. so?”
“Ihhh!!! Minsan lang kaya napunta sa mga ganto kataong lugar yun!! Kaya for sure may magandang mangyayari sakin sa mga susunod na oras!!,” she said with LITERAL glimmering of the eyes.
“That’s crazy,” I commented.
“Ah basta!! Ang saya-saya!!,” she said while giggling.
Teka, bakit ko nga ba kinakausap ang babaeng to? This annoying girl is pretty crazy!
“Uy!! Nga pala.. balita ko..,” inilapit niya yung mukha niya sakin ”…detective ka daw?,” pabulong niyang tanong.
“San mo naman nabalitaan yan?”
“Well, I have my connections you know, hehe” confident niyang sagot, tsk!
“Well, mali ang sabi ng connections mo dahil normal na estudyante lang ako,” sabi ko sa kanya.
“Weh?”
“Ayaw mo maniwala di wag!,” tumayo na ko sa upuan ko. Malapit nang matapos ang one-hour break ko, so I better get back. Inantay ko kung susundan niya pa ko pero nanatili siyang nakaupo.
Tss.. bakit ko nga ba aantaying pa tong babaeng to? You don’t know her Euclid!!
And then time passes by, another day of school has ended. No cases for this day. No mysteries to solve.
Boring!
Jeez!!
I went straight to my house. Maybe I’ll get some power nap first before refreshing my mind later.
I get my phone from my bag and started to scan if there’s new message for me to read.
Hmm.. no new messages.
I tried to close my eyes to have some sleep kaso.. I’m not sleepy!! My brain’s so active! I can’t sleep!!
I get up and turned on my laptop. I checked my e-mail.
Oh I’ve got tons of messages. Here are some:
TRAXXEX: Konnichiwa?
PhantomLancer: Yo bro! How’s Phil.?
Earthshaker: I’ve heard you’ve just got your hands on some case there ha? Keep it up man!
Sven: D’you heard the news? There’s a new member of Red Phoenix!
New member? My mom hasn’t told me about this!
I replied to Sven.
Efreet: who told you that? My mom hasn’t told me anything!
Sven: Just heard it from Roshan.
Efreet: is he OL?
Sven: Yeah just a while ago. Oh wait! Here he is.
Sven: ‘zzup Euclid? Roshan here.
Efreet: What d’you know ‘bout the new member?
Sven: She’s a girl.
Efreet: don’t make me laugh man.
Sven: I’m telling the truth! Go ask your mom!
Efreet: I’ll do that later! =__=
Sven: hahaha ok gtg.
I log-out my account then kinuha ko yung phone ko. I tried calling my mom’s number kaso di makontak! Tsk!!
*Ring.. ring..
Uncle Dy calling...
Huh? I answered the call.
“Hello?”
“Euclid?”
“Yeah speaking”
“I need you here”
“Really? Where? What kind of case is it now?,” I asked full of excitement.
“Calm down Euclid! I’ll text you the address okay?”
“Okay! I’ll be there right away!!”
I hang up. Yosh!!! New case again!!
