The Miracle

Chapter 4

"Name?... What's my name?" Innocenteng tanong nito kay Alexandro.

"Nevermind... From now on your name is Ava. Until you regain your memory we will call you Ava... Okay?" Alexandro said to her.  Ava also called Avis in Latin means bird or a living one  

"Ava...." The Girl smile genuinely as she repeated her name on her lips.

Her mysterious smile and stare make him uncomfortable. It's making him crazy. Alexandro doesn't know why he can't focus while she stares at him. Her stares were full of curiosity and at the same time innocent like a kid staring at her father. Well, it's a bad comparison because I am not her father but still it's the same stare.

"stop staring." He firmly said at her and tried to focus on driving. The traffic in the city makes him more impatient. He just wants to go home and rest, and avoid her gaze for a moment.

Gareth was back on his work, after discussing something with him in the parking lot he quickly left before he can ask him to drive her to the condo. He was stuck on her. He's tired and wanted to sleep early tonight but this girl sitting in the backseat keeps on smiling and staring at him. He doesn't want to regret his decision on taking her in but he's starting to regret it.

Alexandro looks at her again sitting innocently in the backseat of his car, as she looks at him, on his car, and the outside and at him again. How many times did he tell her not to stare but she keeps on staring at him and to be honest it feels uncomfortable.

"What?" Tanong niya habang tinignan ito sa rearview mirror nang kotse niya.

"Handsome..." She whispered but still, he heard it.

Alexandro knows that he is handsome. Everyone told him that. But he doesn't know why something inside of him feels giddy hearing her said it. He wanted to hide his smile but ends up smirking. Gwapo naman talaga siya at alam niya sa sarili iyon. No need to feel happy about it.

"I'm not handsome. I'm scary." ani niya habang pinipigilan parin ang pag-ngiti.

"You're not scary... Good people are not scary." She said while playing with the hem of her dress. Her statement makes him scoff and laugh. Well, not all good person is good. Some of them were masking their bad intention to be good in front of other people. 

"Well, I'm not a good person." He grimly said to her and to himself while looking at the road. It's getting dark already. 

His life is a mess and he himself is a mess that's why he believes that his actions and choices in life make him who he is now and that is a bad person. Because that's what he is, she left him because he is not good. Alexandro wanted to laugh at her statement. Only a stupid person who believes that life is a fairytale. 

"Nope... you are." Ani nito at ngumiti sa kanya. He wanted to say something, to oppose her but her smile. Her genuine smile while looking at him makes it hard to say a word. He remains silent and focuses his eyes in front of him. The dark sky slowly swallowed his mind.....

"Mommy...Mommy...." A kid staring at the cold floor keeps on crying and calling her mother. His voice was a bit rough from crying and his eyes were red and full of fears. 

"Mommy...it's dark." His voice cracks as he cried his fear and despair inside the darkroom. It's cold and dark.

"Mommy please... I'll be a good boy. I'll stay quiet and be a good boy. please... I'm scared...." The boy begged and begged again until his voice was swallowed by the darkness. It was dark and lonely but no one even listens to the cry of the young boy. 

Alexandro was back in his reverie when the car in front of him honked the horn. He swallowed the big lump on his throat, trying to forget the memory that flashes on his mind a while a go.  

Tumingin siya sa labas nang sasakyan at huminga nang malalim nang marinig niya ang mahinang tunog o Hum sa likod niya. It was slow but at the same time gentle. He looks back and saw Ava humming a song while staring outside of the window. 

"Hmm.. hmmm..hmmm... hmmm." She was humming a song that is not familiar to him. She was slightly smiling as she hums the song while looking outside the window.

Her song makes him ease and relax again. He doesn't know what's on her song but it sounds like a peaceful song. Making his worry gone. His mind relaxed as he listens to her gentle song while driving.

"Anong kanta yan?" Tanong niya nang matapos itong kumanta. She was still looking outside nang magtanong siya.

"What song?" Ani nito na maypagtataka. Her eyes are full of question as she look at him.

"The song that you just sang ." He said while looking at her in the rearview mirror.

Ava just look at him for a while clueless at nag kibit balikat bago tumingin ulit sa labas nang sasakyan. Hindi nalang pinilit ni Alexandro kong ano ang pangalan nang kanta at nag drive nalaman. If she would not talk then he would not pry further. Nang makarating sila sa condo na tinitirahan niya, nakatingin lang si ava sa kanya at sa building na nasa harap niya.

"Ahh... It's big..." She unconsciously said while looking at him. Hindi naman malaman ni Alexandro kong anong tinutukoy nito na malaki, if its the building or his part because damn the way she said it and look at him was very innocent.

"Hahaha yeah...." Yun nalamang ang sinabi ni Alexandro at nag mamadaling pumasok sa building. Damn, his dirty mind. He doesn't know if it's because he didn't have s*x for the past few months that his body instantly reacts to what she said or maybe it's because of her innocent face that making it hard to control. 

 He bet she would follow him quietly again. Does she not feel scared following a complete stranger? Even if he wouldn't do something about her still she needs to be aware of herself and her surroundings. Lalo na at maganda ito marami ang mangloloko ngayon maari siyang  ma take advantage. Alexandro takes note of himself to talk to her about being carefree in her surroundings.
