♛Chapter Four♛
Zayna:
After the night I last glanced at Ylejah whom swiftly turned away out from the entrance gate—without any words nor gestures left me a stinging feeling.
I promised her a visit this weekend. But I’m not sure if Ylejah would allow that.
I was here in my office—completely not sure of what to do.
My office.. My building.. My Company.. Who would believe it? Kinuha ko ang phone ko na bigay ni Ylejah—I think I have to return this to him, personally..
It’s not right.. Taking things from him.
I’ll gather my strength to face him today.
I faced the surprised man with a wide sneer on my face.
My father already told me about this but I’ll tell him that I find it uncomfortable, really uncomfortable..
“Can I go alone, please?”
“I’m sorry, miss but this is strictly Mr. De Villa’s directive.” Tang** naman o! Pero malapad ko siyang nginitian. Baka makuha ko sa ngiti! I really have to go alone..
“Fine.. You can go with me but please don’t tell my father where I’ll be at—I’ll tell him.” Hindi lingid sa kaalaman ko ang tensyon sa pagitan nina Ylejah at papa—they’ve been rivals in the business realm. To the thought of their last night’s private meeting? I know, my father said something na dahilan para umalis ito. He invited Ylejah for something and not just for nothing..
Tumango ito. “Copy that, miss. Off you go.” Okay! I was wearing a plain black pencil-cut skirt that’s below the knee and Tina, my wardrobe consultant chose to pair it with a while sleeve and black corporate jacket. I do have a wardrobe consultant! At hindi ko yun gusto..
Napabuntong-hininga ako. I have a lot to talk to dad after Ylejah.
“Mr. Yuri?”
“Yes, miss? Where are you heading by the way?”
“To Mr. Ylejah Ortega’s company, please.” He was clearly taken aback after I told it. “I’ll tell my father and it won’t take long—I promise.” I hastily added. Kahit man anak niya ako—I wanted my old life back.. I really do..
“As you say, maam.” Napanatag ako sa sagot niya.
Ortega’s Empire and Cruise.
It was totally the same skyscraper as ours but thinking that he’s there? The feeling is totally different..
“Do you have an appointment to Mr. Ortega, miss?” Nakangiting tanong ng front desk.
“Uhm.. Appointment? Tumingin ako bodyguard ko—did he just help me?
“A moment please. I’ll reach a call to Mr. Ortega.” How about the promised visit? Will he allow that? Yeah. I think I gotta have to ask his permission as what the young Lana insisted before we parted.. He had told me to stay away from her that night in his mansion..
“Maam, you may proceed to his office—Mr. Ortega is now expecting you.” When the elevator rang, napaiktad ako at parang ayaw ko ng lumabas.
“Miss Zayna, we’re here.” Untag sa’kin ni Mr. Yuri. “Err, yeah—we’re here.” This was your idea, Zayna! Umayos ka!
CEO. Napalunok ako—I remembered that time when I entered the CEO’s office in Ademar’s company. He got mad at me—at ang disgusto niya na ako ang kinuha ni sir Blaire para sa advertisement. How can I forget that?
“I’ll wait you here, Miss.”
“Thanks.” And I pressed the open button. It automatically slid at the side saka ako dahan-dahan na pumasok sa loob. It’s manly and cozy at the same time.
He grew whiskers on his cheeks and chin but still he had this clean haircut. He’s warm eyes met mine—was he supposed to be mad at me? He shouldn’t look at me like this.. Natatakot ako para sa sarili ko! Like that night in his music room—the night that he passionately left a mark on my soul.
“Please seat down.” God, I missed his voice! I don’t know but it chilled me—it brought goose bumps and butterflies inside my stomach!
“H-Hindi na. I’m here to..to give you this.” I forced to move my feet closer to his table and placed the mobile phone. At wala na akong nakapang sasabihin! I must go.. “I..have to go.”
“I canceled my meeting for just a 3-minute conversation with you? Damn, Zayna..” Ganun ba? I glared at his side when he started to get closer to where I stand. I froze!
“And..you had a private talk with my father last night—“ But he interrupted my sentence by his disrupting presence as he kept in getting closer and closer. He’s now a foot away..
“Yeah, right you’re father—Martin De Villa. Damn.. You don’t need anything from me because you’re now a De Villa, do you?” What?!
“No! Guess I used to bugged by his presence, his voice, his all!
“Then why are you here?” Para makita ka! Sh*t!
And it just came out suddenly—from the bottom of my heart as my eyes clouded by tears. I control myself not to shed tears in front of him! I breathe deep..
Ylejah:
I greeted my teeth. It was still last night that I had finally opened my eyes—and it’s hard to accept the truth that I was f****ing betrayed by the person I loved the most.
And now, Zayna’s here telling me her sorry when she doesn’t have to!
“You’re father told me everything and showed me factual evidences that—that it wasn’t your goddamn fault.” Nagulat siya sa sinabi ko. Didn’t her father tell her? Damn it! It’s hard to sink it all in—all Alana’s plan against me was certainly unforgivable!
A new investigation has been filed against her family—and I hate to do it but I have to conduct a paternal test with Lana. God.. I love my princess so much that it hurts me! But I wanted to be sure that my Lana is mine.. My daughter is mine!
“A-Aalis na ako..” She was about to turn away again—and I visualized how it must be hard to her all these years. Her scars screamed all that.. What she had shown to me that night still lingers inside my brain.. Her pain..
“Zayna, wait.” I held her arms and pulled closer to me. God I missed her scent.. As she was clearly startled and stared back unto my eyes—I captured her lips.
Damn it, Zayna..
I released her. “Why does it feel like I am home everytime I kiss you?” And I kissed her again so deep that I wanted to be submerged inside her body and soul. Then she parted her lips and responded—I don’t know but it drove me crazy..
