"Kian."

I looked over to my side, at hindi na ako nagulat nung nakita ko si Risa doon.

I was expecting her, and now she finally shows up.

I turned my head to face the wine glass that was resting in my hands, and I gently played with it as a viscous red liquid gradually covered the glass.

"So, what happened?" I asked for the results of her observation, and I looked at her once more. 

Then she looked up to me, at nagsimula na siyang sabihin yung mga nakita niya.

"She woke up at midnight, and.." Nagtaka ako nung napatigil siya, and I waited for her to continue.

Because if Risa doesn't have anything worth hearing after this, then that girl is of no use to me.

Manghihinayang lang ako kung bakit hindi ko pa siya pinatay nung araw na 'yon.

"After sleeping for more than twenty-four hours, she was able to walk even with the d**g still in her system. Pagtapos ng mga isang oras matapos siyang magising, she has most likely regained her memories."

Now that's a result I was hoping for.

After almost killing her, Risa found me.

Kaya naman bago ko pa siya napatay, naagapan na kaagad ni Risa. After scolding me because of it, Risa gave her Adesine.

A memory erasing d**g made by Kean.

Adesine is used by the most of us when humans find about our identities. Like civilians and others.

But at times, when they remember their past memories even after drinking it, we won't be able to make them forget ever again.

Just like Dylvan and the other vampire hunters.

Because if we make them drink it again, they would most likely die.

Adesine has a visible side effect on humans, because the d**g is made to erase their most recent memories, its use results to the interruption of their body functions. Some humans will have problems in coordinating their body movements. Some would lose feeling in their arms or legs.

For a week or a month.

Or in worst cases..

For the rest of their lives.

That's why a second dose is not possible.

Risa returned her after that, and I made her observe her too, soon after she got back.

Hindi ko napigilan mapangiti ng konti dahil sa nalaman ko.

I am amused to find someone like her in the middle of this mess.

That confirms it.

"She's a rare kind."

I stated, and I drank the blood from the glass in my hands.

Ngayon alam ko na kung bakit gusto siyang kuhain ni Kean at dalhin dito. I even had to do things myself para malaman kung tama ba yung hinala ko.

A rare kind..

A human that possesses the ability to control a vampire's blood inside their body, and whose blood could multiply a vampire's power. Other than that, their bodies too have excellent regeneration abilities..

Maybe that's the reason why Adesine didn't work on her, or even had lasting side effects.

This is going to be fun.

For a while..

"So, anong plano mo?" Nabaling ko nalang ulit yung tingin ko kay Risa, and I licked the leftover blood on my lips.

"Just do as Kean says.. and.." Tinitigan ko siya ng maigi at nahalata kong siya naman yung nagtaka kung bakit ko ginawa 'yon.

"Why are you just wearing a towel?"

I saw her face glower in anger, and she held her first up in the air before pointing her fingers at me.

"Sino ba sa tingin mong may kasalanan nito ha!?" She yelled at me, and I was taken aback by her words.

I blinked at her for a few moments bago nagsalita.

"Do you mean to say that it's my fault?" Tanong ko sa kanya, at halatang halata sa mukha niyang iritang irita na siya.

And I just looked at her.

"There it is! That blank face! Sino ba naman kasing hindi matataranta matapos sabihin sa akin ni Arisa na mamatay ako kapag hindi ako pumunta sa lugar na sinasabi mo!?"

I covered my right ear when she shouted, at tinignan ko nalang ulit siya. I put my arm back in place, at binaba ko sa table na nasa gilid ko yung wine glass.

"Naliligo ako at that time Kian! What do you expect?!" Sigaw na naman niya, and I looked at her with a half smile on my face.

"I expected you to do what I asked, and ginawa mo naman di ba?"

"Let me bathe in peace!"

She yelled for the last time, and she went away while holding the towel that was covering her whole body.

Well, I really would've killed her if she refused. 

I don't need any servants who doesn't know when to serve their masters. 

Nawala yung mga ngiti sa labi ko nung umalis siya, and I found my way into Kean's room inside this household. 

Siguro oras na para naman sabihin niya yung mga balak niya sa akin. 

I just entered the room without any warning, and as soon as I opened the door, a familiar scent of iron and rust was all over the room.

Did his room just celebrate a blood fest?

"Himalang napadpad ka dito?"

That was his way of asking why I came here without even him calling out for someone to find me.

Asking me why I came here of my own accord.

"We're taking that girl in."

Nakita kong nakunot yung noo niya sa sinabi ko, but then a moment later it was covered with a sudden realization.

"Oh, right, nasabi na sa'yo ni Risa." He said with a smile, and I just continued.

"I know that she's a rare kind." He nodded like he was proud that I found out why he wanted that girl to stay here, at nainis ako doon.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were already investigating her?" Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin, and he just looked as dumbfounded as ever.

Parang akala mo wala siyang kaalam alam sa nangyayari.

"Was I?" He asked me, unsurely, and that was my limit.

I opened my invisible space to take my sword and throw it at his neck.

I know I wouldn't be able to kill him like that, but I'll satisfied even if Spade just grazes him a little.

Right in the middle of his neck.

But when I was just holding Spade's handle, napatingin kami sa taong biglang pumasok sa loob.

Stopping me completely from severing Kean's head.

"Ah, Lucifer. Akala ko hindi ka na makakapunta?" Kean welcomed the Evans into his room, and Lucifer glanced at me before finally looking to Kean who had an irritating smile in his face.

Lucifer Trei Evans.

As young as he was, even with all the brothers and sisters that he has, he was chosen to be their clan's head at the age of thirty.

That was twenty years ago.

He was a prodigy.

Just like Kayn.

He would've been at least his age too if he was still alive.

"Before I tell you this.." Putol ni Lucifer sa sarili niya, and he immediately narrowed his eyes at Kean.

"Tell Ada to leave the room."

Binitawan ko na yung espada ko, and it went back to the space on its own. Then I turned my attention to Ada who was hiding herself under the table. She wore nothing but a white polo that was loose all over her body, and she hides her face with her hair.  

Naramdaman kong sumakit yung ulo ko sa nakita ko. 

I know that she's always inside this room, and where she exactly was every time. But I didn't think that it was always this way. 

That's the exact reason why this place always smells like a blood bath.

Tahimik na umalis si Ada mula sa pinto, and Lucifer closed it with a flick of his fingers. When we felt that Ada's presence had already disappeared, me and my brother immediately turned an eye to Lucifer.

"To start, that girl really is human." Bigla nalang nagsalita si Lucifer, at tahimik lang kaming napatingin ni Kean sa kanya.

Now for the crucial information.

Why was she in the Genesis Orphanage if she was human?

"Her name was never found on the records, but the hidden laboratory inside the orphanage had traces of her. So, they most likely used her for experiments."

It's already been a century since the Trine's eradication.

All of their research facilities have been destroyed along with their whole clan. 

By breaking the rules and letting our identities be known to humans, they were named as traitors to the rest of the clan. 

That's why the queen had no other choice but to wipe the whole clan out. 

At least that was the story behind all of it. 

"So you mean, she's at least a hundred years old?" Kean asked Lucifer, at umiling 'to bilang sagot. 

And he proceeded to explain why. 

"Since she was a new lead to at least finding the 'key', we did our background research on her. And she was given her identity twelve years ago, at the age of five." 

Of course. 

If she was a hundred years old, that would mean that she's not human at all. 

"Anything else?" I asked him, and he gave me a brief look before speaking again. 

"Could you move over?" Nagtaka naman ako sa sunod niyang sinabi, and eyed him before he moves his head to the side like he was just telling me do it. 

Fine then. 

Since we standing beside each other, I took a few steps away from my place and he proceeded to pull something out of his invisible space. I was confused when he pulled out such a large bag from it, at binagsak nalang niya 'yon sa tabi niya. 

"We found a hidden laboratory just near where she was first found, at ito yung lahat ng files na nakita namin doon sa lugar na 'yon." 

Tumayo si Kean mula sa table niya, and he went over the pile to examine it. 

He knelt in front of the bag, and opened it with his fingers. At saka naman siya kumuha ng iilang piraso ng papel mula doon. 

And he wore an amused smile as if he understood something. 

"I knew it." Pareho kaming nagtaka ni Lucifer sa sinabi niya, at hinintay namin siyang magpaliwanag. 

Did he find something? 

He continued going through the papers one after another, and curiosity was already making it's way through Lucifer and myself included. 

Hanggang sa nagsalita na ulit si Kean. 

"Tama nga ako." He said for the last time, and looked at the both of us. 

"Wala akong utak pagdating sa research." 

In an instant, Lucifer pulled Kean by his collar paired with my sword that was waiting at his neck. 

The two of us were most likely fed up with how Kean takes this matter mischievously and we know we finally had enough of it.

"Nanggagago ka ba, Kean?" 

Lucifer cursed at Kean, at nagawa niya pang tumawa sa sitwasyon niya ngayon. 

"Kilala niyo naman ako 'di ba? You should've seen your faces." He said in a jest, at binitawan nalang siya ni Lucifer, and he hid his sacred weapon back in his own space. 

The dark gloves, Cosmic. 

I haven't seen those in a while. 

I just looked away from Kean in annoyance, and I also returned Spade back into my own. 

Kean just wore a triumphant grin in front of us, and Lucifer just heaved a sigh. Bago siya napakamot sa ulo niya, at nagsalita. 

"That's all I have. You can call me anytime if you need something to be done." Hindi na siya tumingin kay Kean, and instead his face turned to me. 

That's why I nodded at him in response and he left the room. 

And of course I'm also planning to leave. 

But before I finally left, I gave Kean one last look. 

"She's mine to use." 

Nakita ko siyang magtaka sa sinabi ko, and I opened the door. With my back turned to him, I left my last words. 

"Not yours." 

Sinigurado kong nabagsak ko yung pinto, and I flicked my fingers in order to call some of our servants inside this mansion. 

"Yes, young master?" A maid bowed her head in front of me, and I showed her a hand gesture so that she could face me. 

"The files in Kean's room, take it to mine." She nodded when she understood the order, and I left the premises. 

I need to blow off some steam. 

Looks like I'm hunting for infected people with Axel for the rest of the night.
