CHAPTER TWENTY

1751 Words
Bellia’s Point Of View Once Kalea and I came out of the CCTV control room, our lunch break wasn’t over yet so I decided to go to the oval and talk to an FBI. Kalea didn’t come with me anymore because she hadn’t eaten dinner yet, that’s better than letting her go hungry. I stopped walking when I saw there were a few more FBI out there outside the oval, I stared at it and then took a deep breath to gain the courage to ask them questions. Just a few seconds later when I stopped walking, and then I took another step closer to them. An FBI woman looked at me with a face mask. I can tell she was in her thirties because of her skin, maybe she was 5’9 in height. I caught her attention as she looked at her colleagues. “What is your purpose here, young lady?" I gave her a smile, “I just wanted to ask you something, if I could.” I said and then glanced at the oval. She nodded and then put both her hands behind her back, “Sure, what’s that?” She asked me. I stepped once and then looked at her. “Ano na ‘hong balita sa krimen? About ‘ho roon sa itim na gloves na mayroong dugo? Dumadagdag ‘ho ba ‘yon sa mga ebidensya?” She nodded and then looked at my bandaged palm, “Before that, hija, what happened to your hand?” She asked and then pointed to my hand. I looked at my palm and then raised it, “Ah. Ito ‘ho ba? I accidentally collided with a student carrying laboratory materials.” I adduced. She nodded again as she opened her eyes and then blinked. “Mm-hmm. Can I ask when that happened?” I frowned at what she asked and then just nodded. “Kahapon ‘ho, bakit?” She nodded once again and then looked at her next FBI who also looked at her. “Uh. The blood in the black gloves is being observed by our colleagues now, hija, what is surprising is that it is not the victim’s blood. We cannot say that it was a student who committed that blasphemy, but there is a possibility that it was a student. There is no other evidence left in the oval but only the black gloves, no knife was left here that was used in the stabbing, it was probably thrown away by the suspect.” What the actual fluck? Student? Posibleng estudyante ang pumatay kay Mang Sinlac? How could that student is! She sighed as she took a glance at the person next to her and then looked at me, “If you’re wondering why I’m pointing out that gloves are evidence, it’s because we saw some hair there, and we made sure it was the victim’s hair.” She said as she crossed her arms. The sun rose and I felt heat on my skin. I caressed it and then looked at where I was standing. “Tell the student councils immediately when there is news of the crime, we’re hoping for all of you now, you all have our respect.” She nodded and then held out her hand, “Pumasok ka na sa silid ninyo, baka dumaretso pa sa ulo mo ang init, magiging bunga pa ng sinat,” anito at saka tumuro sa aking likuran. I smiled then nodded. I walked away from there and then went straight to our building. I saw Gabriel coming out of our classroom, I raised my hand and then waved to get his gaze, he looked back and then stopped walking. I ran towards him, “I heard about the crime. I talked to an FBI earlier, it said there was a percentage of students who killed Mang Sinlac. I can’t believe those words came out of her mouth,” I said and then leaned against the wall. He frowned and then stood in front of me. “What do you mean that there’s a percentage that the suspect is a student? How can they say so? Is there evidence that the suspect can be a student?” Tumango ako at saka tumingin sa kanyang uniporme, “Yup— ‘yong itim na gloves. The FBI is already observing that. Isn’t there blood on the gloves? They said they were sure that it was not the victim’s blood.” I said and looked at him. His expression became confused, “Wai— what? No victim’s blood was there? So, why did they say that was evidence of murder?” tanong niya. Napangiti ako dahil sa tanong niya, he’s really interested in anything. “There’s a hair on the gloves, they confirmed that the hair was from Mang Sinlac, Gab. But, the FBI haven’t mentioned na there’s a fingerprint sa gloves.” He nodded as he gazed at my skirt, “Didn’t they check our CCTV cameras? I haven’t seen them go into the CCTV control room, did they?” He asked as he looked me in the eyes. I glared at him for a second and sniffed my mouth. “I… I don’t have the force to ask that to them, Gab. Later, maybe, they will check the CCTV cameras from last night. I surely don’t know, Gab.” He nodded once again and took a look inside our classroom and pointed at it, “Let’s go inside, someone might see us here outside our room,” aniya at saka hinawak ang aking siko. I obeyed what he said and then we went inside, at the same time while he was still holding me by my elbow. He supports me towards my seat and then goes to his seat. He is really a gentleman. I looked to my side and was shocked to see Naui already there. “Oh, my goodness, Naui. You scared me.” She was holding another yakult with a small straw, she was sucking on it while looking at me and she suddenly raised her left eyebrow. “Why are you both so sweet lately, huh? I already asked you if there’s something between you and him, Bellia, you didn’t let me hear even a single word from you earlier, huh.” Hinaplos ko ang aking lamesa at saka tumingin sa kanya, “Naui, look, we’re friends, okay? We are also childhood friends, so expect that we’re really that close, stop saying that we are sweet, stop thinking nonsense, okay?” sabi ko at saka tumingin sa aking harapan. She nodded as she pouted, “Okay. I just asked, calm your ass down, Bellia. You seem triggered. Well, I think I should go back to my seat, then.” She said and stood up and gave me a wink as if she said “See you around.” When it returned to its place I massaged my nape, then rotated it. Gabriel and Matthew are right, I don’t have to stress myself on the crime. As I twisted my neck I stopped when I saw Jordan standing in our corridor, I grabbed my nape and then looked at her intently. I was about to signal her to come inside but she suddenly pointed at me. Three FBIs suddenly entered our classroom and then approached my seat, “Oh, young lady, thank you for cooperating and exposing yourself.” She said and then grabbed me by the arm, forcing me to stand up. I frowned because I didn’t know what was going on and why they were here. I looked at my classmates who were staring at me, many of them with their mouths covered and while others were whispering. I looked at Gabriel who stood up and then approached the FBI who was holding me. It gripped me so tightly that I was only exacerbated by the pain. He grabbed my arm that the FBI was holding and he was forcing the woman’s hand on my arm to let it go. “Hey, you’re hurting my friend, what’s with you, lady? Let go of her arm.” Naging mapusok ang paghinga ng babae at saka tumingin kay Gabriel. “We will interview your friend, young boy. When some of us observing the blood on the gloves, we confirmed that your friend was the suspect. Your friend is a evildoer, young boy.” I barely blinked at what I heard, three seconds before breathing. Inilibot kong muli ang paningin ko sa mga kaklase ko na ngayon ay may takot at galit na ang binibigay na tingin sa akin. What? I’m an evildoer? Why is this happening? Why this should be happen? An FBI blocked Gabriel because he tried to approach me as we were leaving the classroom of the two FBI, now I have no choice but to join them at the station, then I will just clear my name there. We went down our building without the woman letting go of both my arms. I bowed my head and then got into the back seat of the car, followed by the woman holding me. The car drove out of the University. I heard her take a deep breath while looking out the car window. “I can’t believe that you will be the suspect, hija. We just talked before, didn’t we? Your face is so innocent to do that, I can’t imagine you could do such a thing.” My breathing was mixed with hatred, “Hindi. Ako. Ang. May. Gawa. No’n.” I emphasize while looking in front of me. I saw in my side-sight her grin at what I said. “Yet, you are not that too adult to clear the name, hija. I have a lot to ask you, but it will be later at the police station.” My jaw tightened because of how she spoke those words to me, just wow, magkasama kami ni Logan kahapon after the dismissal, pagkatapos niya akong ihatid ay si Gabriel naman ang nakasama ko sa building. How could they say that I’m the suspect? The car stopped in front of the station and then the woman dropped me off. I feel mixed emotions, high nervousness and anger. We walked towards it inside, but I was not inside yet when a woman approached me and then suddenly pulled me out, she was crying. I could hear her crying the anger and the giggles— on me?
