After a total of five days of sick leave, I went back to work. Scents still trigger me quickly and maya-maya masusuka na ako, so I volunteered to man the OPD and do work outside the OR because the smell of cautery made me extremely nauseous. My batchmates were understanding, and so was the chief resident. Maswerte nga batchmates and teammates ko, they get to assist the surgeries more and do less scut work. I’d be happy if ako nasa lugar nila.
I haven’t seen my mom or dad since their visit from the hospital but I did not take it against them. Naintindihan ko naman that they may need some time to forgive me and I wasn’t ready to approach them either.
