Chapter 13

This is it the day of our wedding, it was a Spring wedding in the late afternoon here in Canada. The area faced the breathtaking sunset. At the end of each seated aisle, jasmine-scented candles hung from naked tree branches. Spread down the aisle was white rose petals, as far as the eyes could see, slightly moist so they wouldn't crack when you stepped on them. We'd have a small group of close family and friends dressed in semi-formal white attire for comfort. On either side of the aisle, they sat in white chairs set up for them on the sand.
"Okay, okay Rose, Kaylangan mong huminga, Can you do that for me??" Alexis asked.
Only five minutes remained before my wedding began; I was nervous and my palms are cold as ice.
"I know hindi to first-time ko mag pakasal but still andun pa din yung kaba" Sabi ko, I was walking frantically back and forth in the room when my parents came with my children
"Ready?" my mom asked, I smiled nervously.
"I think I could never get used to this" Na tatawang saad ko
"Mommy Aunt George wants you to have this" Eliot said and handed me a letter. I opened it and read it loudly so that everyone can her
To my future wife Rose,
I would like to thank you for bursting into my life, I never told you that you are the best thing that ever happens to me, you showed me that acceptance comes to you first before others, thank you for believing in me and loving me truly. I love you so much and the twins I can't wait to become part of your lives forever.
I love you future wife.
I wiped a tear that escapes into my eyes, I can't wait to marry the love of my life.
Tinawag na kami ng wedding organizer palabas para makapag simula na, which we all obliged.
Finally, the marriage officiant came out and asked everyone to stand. It was my turn! All eyes would soon be on me. Lily lined the path with white rose petals as the music started. I only took two steps out before I was greeted by my parents. they escorted me down the aisle, which seemed longer than before. they became my strength; without them, I would faint. The guests looked at me, taking pictures of my dress, waving at me, smiling- one thing was for sure, though... no one made a sound. Up ahead I saw her, George. My future wife, the love of my life, my everything. She looks so beautiful with her white tux/dress, but the most beautiful thing is how she looked at me lovingly.
Finally, we reach the end of the aisle, my parents hugged me.
"I'm proud of you," Mommy said with teary eyes and then presented me to my bride. My father placed my hand in George's and smiled. Before my parents walked away, they both gave George a hug. Standing next to my love felt overwhelming. As a couple, George and I stood in front of the marriage officiant.
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness these two lovely women join together in holy matrimony." the marriage officiant announced. He said the speech and an afterward we exchanged vows
"Rose, there are so many reasons why I love you and thankful for you, nung dumating ka sa buhay ko I was a wreck I don't have anyone beside me but myself I felt empty but when you arrived my world become full again, plus you have a bonus, two beautiful children that I love so much, you all accepted me wholeheartedly gave me a reason to keep going. I am thankful to you because you gave light to me and my family, you are the reason why we are complete and happy, and I promise you that I would love and protect you and the twins for the rest of my life"
"George, at first I never thought that I would marry someone again never the less a woman, but that change when you come into my life, all my life I thought that I was straight and I could only love one man, but fate took a turn and gave me you. I never regret anything that ever happens to us because with you I become a better person and a mother to the twins. I promise to love you and to take care of you every day," tears filling both our eyes
Eli came forward and presented the rings. I placed George's ring on first, then she placed on mine.
"With the power invested in me I now pronounce you married, You may now kiss." George leaned in and kissed me, softly like she never has done it before. Nag palakpakan ang lahat at nag hiyawan, finally I can call this lovely lady mine.
